This 5-star hotel is a beautiful manor house surrounded by gardens in the hilly countryside of Bergisch Gladbach. It has a Michelin-star restaurant and a spa with pool. The rooms and suites of the Schlosshotel Lerbach are decorated in an English country-house style. All rooms have cable TV, Wi-Fi and a private bathroom. A breakfast buffet is provided each morning. They have free rooms even if every other hotel in the Cologne area is booked. To some rooms you have to go out of the hotel and walk in cold, snow, etc. to get to your room. Very cold rooms on the first night (no pre-heating). Extra charges for everything - would be fair if you were informed but you are not. Extremely expensive breakfast, ridiculously high price for wi-fi. Unexpected changes in the room services meals, etc. I'll never stay there again.

I chose it for its location. For someone who many years ago lived in Cologne, the area of Bergisch Gladbach always impressed me.I Also chose it because it was a member of Relais et Chateaux and I have yet to be disppointed by the standards of hotels within that group. It also had a good mention in Michelin and I know I could expect good food. I was pleasantly surprised by its situation and my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the proximity of the forest and our chance to go for a good walk. In all respects. The hotel lived up to our expectations.

Service und Mitarbeiter waren gut. Brasserie war sehr gut. Die zur Verfügung gestellte Suite (Nr. 505) war nicht akzeptabel. Sie befand sich im Dach eines umgebauten Stallgebäudes. Das Schlafzimmerfenster hatte eine Größe von lediglich ca. 60 cm x 20 cm. Im Brandfall hätte man daraus nicht einmal flüchten können. Die Fenster der übrigen Räume waren ähnlich winzig, so dass kein ausreichender Lichteinfall gegeben war und man das Gefühl hatte, sich im Keller zu befinden. In dem "Stall" befanden sich außerdem die Kochschule und der SPA Bereich verbunden mit unangenehmen Chlorgerüchen und Geruch von Küchenabfällen. Das Bett hatte eine Breite von lediglich 1,60 m als Dpppelbett! Der berechnete Preis für diese Suite von 380 EUR ohne Früstück war daher unverschämt.

Vooral de architectuur van de gebouwen en de grootsheid van het park rondom het hotel spreekt tot de verbeelding. Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk en attent, het ontbijt meer dan uitstekend. Er gaat een immense rust uit van het geheel. Jammer dat het sterrenrestaurant gesloten was omwille van verlof, bij het boeken van de avondmalen op het net was dit niet duidelijk aangegeven. De bistro voldoet, maar geeft geen meerwaarde aan het verblijf.

bad war ok , heizung war sehr gut, allgemein sehr freundliches personal, für mein zimmer , war der preis zu hoch, bei jedem zimmerservice 5 euro zu verlangen, hunde gern gesehen ,jedoch im restaurant nicht , wozu soll das gut sein???? parkplatz war eine eisplatte, glatteisgefahr, keine streuung stattgefunden! frühstück: die marmelade ist gewöhnungsbedürftig, wäre sinnvoll ein buffet daraus zu machen, kaffee zu wenig , sahne für kaffee sollte voraussetzung sein , bei einem solch hohen standard,wie sich das hotel zu nennen vermag...

Kostenloser Shuttle Service Unsere Suite war etwas zu altmodisch eingerichtet (Fürst Metternich Suite). Wir waren schon in ein paar Schlosshotels, und die Kombination zwischen modern, klassisch und elegant sind da besser gelungen.

Die Parkanlage ist außergewöhnlich schön und gepflegt. Das Hotel und die Hotelzimmer sind gut ausgestattet und sauber. Wír waren in der Brasserie "Coq au vine", da das Gourmet Restaurant geschlossen hatte. Der erste Eindruck auf der Terrasse war toll, wunderbare Aussicht auf die Parkanlage. Das Personal war freundlich und aufmerksam aber überfordert. Die Speisekarte paßt ehr ins Mittelalter, keine frischen saisonalen Produkte (z.B Pfifferlinge), alter französischer Stil mit Hummer und Austern. Der Service muß sich mit sehr viel beschäftigen ( z.B. Tatar vorm Gast anmachen) sodaß wir für vieles sehr lange warten mussten. Das Brot war trocken und nicht frisch aufgebacken, sollte man erwarten können, dann lieber kein Amuse. Der Flammkuchen war trocken und kalt. Das Gericht " Zweierlei vom Kalbskopf" war einfach angerichtet und geschmacklich neutral. Die geschmorte Rindsschulter war schwarz, die Soße nicht entfettet und sehr schwer, alles unappettichlich auf dem Teller angerichtet. Auf dem Tisch war keine Kerze obwohl es Abend war und stockdunkel, wenigstens ein kleines Teelicht wäre nett gewesen. Die Blumendeko war eine alte ausgewachsene Blume, man hätte wenigstens für den Preis einen ordentliche Tischdeko erwarten können. Auf ein Dessert haben wir dann verzichtet. Insgeamt haben wir wesentlich mehr von einem Restaurant erwartet, dass mit 15 Punkte Gault Millau ausgezeichnet ist.
