Score from 207 reviews Excellent
This hotel lies just a 10-minute car ride from central Kassel, only a 20-minute walk from Schloss Wilhelmshöhe castle and its extensive parkland , home to the impressive Hercules monument.

Score from 113 reviews Good
The location of this hotel is fabulous - right in the baroque park.
The attitude and helpfulness of the staff varies enormously - some are charming and helpful, but some are brusque and aggressive. Also, the quality of the food in the restaurant, while perfectly acceptable, in no way justifies the prices that are charged for it... the remote location of the hotel means that many guests will rely solely upon the restaurant for their meals and the hotel is taking scandalous advantage of this. I love eating out and will happily spend lavishly on lavish food and service - but 33 euros for 2 bog-standard baked potatoes and two soft drinks, served by a vacant and inattentive waitress, isn't on.
Lovely reasonable restaurant
Wifi would not work, even the staff could not get to work although I had no trouble at all the other hotels we visited. Water went off at 11pm for 3 hours - very inconvenient, couldn't wash to next morning. A lot of refurbishment work going on, shame we didn't know beforehand as would have booked elsewhere.
We came to Kassel from California to Kassel to spend a long weekend with my wife's family in that locale. We like to spend a night on our own to get some relief from the jet-lag before linking up with the family. We had been to the area of the Schloss Wilhelmshohe many times before, knew the location (it is one of the finest parks in Europe), and were pleased to find that the hotel was an excellent accommodation, highly suitable to our needs.
From the viewpoint of our stay, and the fact that my wife has a cousin who owns a biomarkt about 3 km down Wilhelmshohe Allee from the hotel, there was nothing about the hotel that displeased us.
Large rooms Great location next to the Schloss Parking inexpensive (8€ per day) Cleanliness, nice ambience in teh main building. Very good buffet High speed Wifi included, and if you have more than one device the reception will happily give you an additional voucher
One of the receptionists was a bit stroppy. Not very helpful in giving directions to a nearby place The rooms in the Remise were a bit frugal Slightly expensive for the room standard
The location next to the Museum is excellent. Close enlightening to the train station as well.
It's an intrinsically uncomfortable building - more like the type of cold modern building you would expect to find at a beach resort than an historic town. The staff did the bare minimum to accommodate me, they seemed constantly distracted by incoming phone calls rather than dealing with actual guests.
Typical business-group hotel for small congresses and trainings. Building activities, not mentioned on the web, so surprise. Small bar, overwhelmed by a group. Small bathroom. No comfortable chair in the room
The spa facilities were good and well maintained.
The customer service at the hotel is extremely poor particularly at the restaurant. This is by far the worst customer service we have ever experienced from a hotel of such reputation. For the purpose of justifying such a strong remark I'll briefly cite some incidents below. pon arrival we were not made to feel welcome at the hotel by the receptionist on duty. Without a smile he asked for our name and gave us the key without letting us know about the facilities available at the hotel or any other information. We had to ask for this information ourselves which was returned by very curt replies for example the access to the spa area etc. During breakfast a young lady attending to us was very rude and impolite to say the least. She nevertheless happened to be very courteous and smiling at selected tables. For example she went and informed some guests that the kitchen for breakfast would close soon and if they would like anything else. After waiting for her to also do the same courtesy at our table, We asked for a cup of coffee in English and she replied discourteously in German that next time we must keep in mind that the kitchen closes at 10 hrs. Sorry but we were only hoping that she would be imbiased in her service and give us also the chance to make our final order! There was not cociergie desk and the receptionist on the next day was an inexperienced young lady but helpful. She was the best human experience we had during our stay. After checkout we enquired if we could find a glass of drinking water somewhere and the receptionist directed us to the restaurant. At the restaurant the manager along with his colleagues was busy in preparation for the lunch. We asked for a glass of water and the manager gave us a look and asked one of his subordinates to bring us a glass of water in German. A manager who doesn't even have the decency to speak directly to the guests who stayed at his hotel!
