Situated at the foot of the hill where Neuschwanstein stands, it is convenient for those who want to see and photo the Castle in details. Very friendly staff. The mattresses and pillows were too soft for comfort. |

The location is incredible No information available about castle tour. Had to drive down the mountain to buy tickets. Room was cold with no way to turn up heat. |

What a thrill to be so close to the entrance to the Schloss. Our room was very large based on other European lodging. The restaurant had a good dinner selection even for this time of year. The next morning, we walked right up to the castle and took our tour. However, tickets must be purchased 'down below' at the ticket office. So purchase your tickets there for the same day. Then head up to the hotel. It is up the pedestrian road, so either drive your car, take the horse drawn carriages, or walk. :) The walk to the Marian bridge from the hotel was a joy in the morning. I would like to see the hotel name on the building. It was a different older name and was confusing. Also I think people should know that they need to drive UP the road on which all the tourists are walking to the castle. We thought we were on the wrong road. Directions were a little unclear. But a great place to stay none the less. |

There were no staff present after 5.00 pm, had we arrived later we would have had no room. We were told breakfast was at 8.00am there were no staff present till 8.50am. The spotlights outside shone directly through the bedroom windows. There were no restaurants for dinner within walking distance |

The general setting is stunning - particularly in autumn when the trees turn colour. The building is basically the restaurant for the castle, but it closes at 6pm and you must check in before that or you will find that the place is locked up and the staff have gone home for the night. We thought they had succeded very well in making the rooms bright and comfortable but this remains a place to sleep rather than a hotel in the normal sense. We drove down the mountain to the village to find an evening meal. In the morning, we drove down again to the ticket office in order to purchase our timed tour tickets, and then drove back up - whilst all the other visitors took the 30 min walk uphill or paid for transportation. The restaurant staff arrive at 0630, so expect to be woken early! |

Very close walking to Neuschwanstein, about 200mtrs instead of the 2km walk that everyone else must make. Very nice breakfast, comfortable room, view of castle from outside dining area (directly overhead) Beds were very firm, federdecke was a little thin |

Its location was great...almost hidden. We wouldn't have found it without a GPS! The floodlights for the castle were right outside our windows and they stayed on until about 1:30 a.m. |

It was very quiet, located just minutes from the Neuschwanstein castle, and 10 minutes from the village below. Wooded area all around, very relaxing. No Internet access, but not important |

very little If we did not arrive before 7pm, the staff would have all let and we would have had to sleep in our car in the parking lot. Because the hotel is so close to the castle, the spotlight that illuminates the castle also illuminated our room to the level of daylight all night long. No, the curtains in the room are not thick. We used the couch cushions to block out the light. |

The location was amazing! A five minute walk from Neuschwanstein (instead of the 45 minute walk you would usually have) and a short drive into town. When we arrived, it was difficult to find an employee to help us. And then when we wanted to switch to a bigger room, it was again difficult to find help. The restaurant (which we were looking forward to after a long day of driving) was closed the night we arrived, although it may have been because there were only two other rooms filled that night. |

The proximity to Schloss Neuschwanstein Hotel is difficult to find, is noisy and most annoying is that kitchen closes at 18:00. Entry tickets to Schloss Neuschwanstein can only be bought at the ticket corner in the village, one is obliged to go down the hill to buy tickets and then return up the hill. So proximity to Schloss Neuschwanstein is of no advantage. Tickets can not be bought a day before. |

Our key to the outer door did not work when we returned at 9 pm to go to bed. The woman who answered the buzzer treated it as an emergency. There were no sheets on our beds. We slept in our clothes because the scratchy mattress covers were so uncomfortable. |

The closest to Neuschwanstein you'll get. Parking. Breakfast. No curtains on our window, which had a huge light direct at it. It seemed we were being surrounded by the police... Had to improvise with towels stuck in the window. |

it was almost on top of the neuschwanstein castle, we even got a pass to go up the hill by car into the hotel, while everyone else as to go by foot, by bus or horse carriage the breakfast could have a little more variety |

The hotel is very easy to go and visit Neuschwanstein, while you are almost in the castle and do not have to climb the long steap hill. Do not forget to go and search your tickets (by car) on the bottom of the hill. The comfort is basic, shower and toilet in the corridor. You can only eat till 6PM, after that time all is closed. |

Rooms are typically small and if there are more than two travelers, you will need two rooms. We enjoyed the location. |

If you wish to visit the Castle then this is the place to stay. We arrived at 16.00 hours after travelling 550 kms. On arrival told that no food or drinks facility after 18.00 .It is not a hotel. After 19.00 all the staff go home. No bar,no restaurant,no facilities.Unable to get luggage to room until after all the tourist and visitors to the castle had left. |

Arrived close to 19 o´clock to the hotel and they asked if we´d like to have a dinner at their restaurant thou they were about to close. Nice Hungarian stuff, very efficent, good food. Rustic breakfast good, availale till 10 o´clock. Our room was romantic, clean and quiet two rooms apartment towards the castle. After around 20 o´clock when the visitors from the castle had gone down to the village we had a nice quiet walk to "our own" castle 200 meters from the hotel. Nothing to complain from this unique small pearl. Only 8 rooms so be lucky if You manage to book this. |

Our traditional guesthouse is centrally situated in the village of Schwangau, a glorious alpine setting near to the king’s castles; you can see famous Neuschwanstein from some of our rooms. |
These holiday homes in the Horn district of Schwangau are located near the Schloss Neuschwanstein fairytale castle. Take out one of the rental bikes to better explore the region. |
Located near the popular holiday resort of Reutte, this traditional family guest house has lost nothing of its charming authentic appeal since its opening in 1911. |
Boasting an idyllic location in Hohenschwangau, this charming 4-star hotel offers a memorable break, just a short distance away from Hohenschwangau Castle and Neuschwanstein Castle. |
