Area information

Winterberg offers ideal leisure activities for adults and children alike. The Kahler Asten, one of the most popular mountains in the Sauerland region, is located in Winterberg. There are also various lakes nearby.

The area is very well-known for its skiing facilities. There are 72 ski slopes for all levels of difficulty, 22 ski lifts, 30 cross-country skiing trails, a toboggan track and many ski-jumps, including the St. Georg. A mountain bike track opened in 2003.

From the A7 motorway, take the A2 motorway towards Bielefeld, the A33 motorway towards Paderborn, exit at Wuenneberg and head for Brilon.

From the A5 motorway, exit at Marburg, head for Allendorf and Winterberg.

From the A44 motorway towards Kassel, exit at Werl, take the A46 motorway towards Arnsberg, head for Meschede and then Winterberg.

From the A44 towards Dortmund, exit at Anroechte, head for Belecke and then Olsberg.
