Carat Hotel & Apartments München  

Carat Hotel provides a solid value choice in downtown Munich. It is an easy 15 minute walk from City Center and very close to a metro stop. Front desk staff are friendly and happy to advise on travel questions. The room is basic, but clean and comfortable. It includes a full bath with plenty of hot water. The apartment has a very small kitchenette area, including a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Parking is available at a reasonable rate. We were pleased with the rate and accommodation.

Easy access to subway station and 15 minute walk to the center of Munich (Marienplatz), great breakfast, some really friendly staff, the appartment was well equipped for people who like us, traveled with a small child.

There was a window with no curtain or shades in the kitchen that looked directly into the room from the appartments across from us (no privacy) and the other curtains let in too much light in the morning, which made it hard to sleep.

Staff were friendly and always approachable. Close enough to walk to the tourist spots and transport systems.

Wireless internet accesss was, at best, patchy and for the most part of our 4 night stay, non-existent. The self-catering apartment kitchen is not user friendly and badly understocked in terms of utensils and facilities.

Unfriendliness, lack of heating, poor breakfast, horrible bad and bathroom. Never will go back to this hotel. Highly unnrecommended.

Nice people at the receprion desk. We stayed in appartment part and find what we''ve expected. Location is perfect. 1-2 minutes to Metro station and 5 min to Marienplatz. Good shopping and food area around.

Pillows and bed covers were of a low quality, thus it was not very comfortable to sleep.

Breakfast are superb and have varieties of food. The location is perfect.

Hotel staffs are not the same standard. Some staffs are friendly and helpful. I was impressed by the first welcome and enjoy breakfast meal everyday. Unfortunatelly, I met some staff that was not so helpful and did argrument about my booking. I booked a room at the hotel but was transfered to apartment in the second part of my staying. This room was so noisy in the morning. A bit disappoint, comparing to the room at 7th floor of the hotel.

The staff is almost always friendly, the free wifi works well, they have free coffee in the reception area so you don´t have to spring for the expensive breakfast, which is not included. The location is good, close to get to U-bahn station Sendlingertor or a short walk to Marienplatz. I could adjust the heat in my room, or open the window for fresh air. I´ve stayed here several times on weekends in Munich, good enough for a solo traveler on city tour.

We were extremely impressed by the staff. The Front Desk clerks were more than accommodating, always pleasant. The breakfast was awesome and the servers were extremely friendly and courteous. The houskeeping was excellent. We came to Munich for business but extended our stay - total time was 10 days. Stayed in the apartment which was great for the computer and relaxing. Have stayed in many large hotels worldwide but have never enjoyed ourselves so much as we did at the Carat Hotel in Munich. Will definitely recommend it to everyone. M/M Schnitzer

Room was clean, good location for Oktoberfest.

I booked this room in February to make sure that I had somewhere nice for Oktoberfest. I *specifically* booked a double room. Unfortunately, I was give a twin room which was not very comfortable for me. When I queried the staff, I was told that the word double in Germany meant a 2 person room and did not mean a double bed. When I said there was a difference between a twin and a double, I was "corrected" for the correct meaning in Germany. And now when I write the review, the author information of the review now says "the booked the "Double or Twin Room" for 3 nights". My email reservation only says double.
