Our room was spacious and quiet, bathroom had 2 sinks. We were not able to have the breakfast because we had to leave early. There is free wifi in the lobby, but I did not see any outlets. Overall a very pleasant hotel. The lift was not working when we were there, but desk personnel did carry our luggage up to our room. There is also a full flight of stairs between the front door and the desk, so this hotel is not suitable for anyone who has problems with stairs.

The location, it was very central and you can walk everywhere. All our towels smelled musty. It was too bright in the room, as the curtains were very thin and not wide enough. Given that the hotel is on a main street, some sound-proofing and black-out curtains would not go amiss.

The location is fairly good, but... ... at least if you're having a room at the street side, you definitely cannot sleep because of the noises of the busy street next to the hotel. Additionally, we booked a non-smoking room because of asthma. However, when we arrived, we could clearly smell that someone had smoked there (btw, also one of the owners smokes in the hotel!!!). When we asked for a possibility to change the room, we were told that it isn't possible. In the next morning when we had had trouble to breathe because of the cigarette smell, we decided to leave the hotel and not to stay the other night of the booking. The staff was very unfriendly when we presented our critique and they refused to give a discount for the room price, although the room didn't fulfill the criteria that a non-smoking room should have. I have traveled in several countries (always booked via booking.com) and this is absolutely the worst experience I've had. I will never go to this hotel again although they would offer a room for free!

The Hotel's location is excellent for the Christmas markets. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good. It is no the fault of the hotel, but as it does not have a car park, parking is a nightmare. There is on-street parking, if you can find a space, but you have to feed the meter every two hours, or park in a garaage 5 minutes wlk away at 2 Euros per hour (less overnight) The bathroom was very small and the sink was in the main room.

Walking distance to town centre and the hotel staff was very friendly. My mother has to ask for extra blanket and the hotel staff allowed us to take a duvet off from the unoccupied room. Hotel was not a luxury but was warm and friendly place to spend the night in and used as a base to explore the town. Hotel facility is basic and a little tired looking but all worked well. I couldn't get the heating working and has to ask the staff to show me how to put it on. Hot water did not come out of the tap until I found another water tap behind the toilet to feed hot water to the bath tap. Hotel staff are helpful but they did not speak fluent English. There was 20 odd flight of steps to the hotel reception, it was a bit of a challenge for my elderly mother.

This is a family ran hotel located about 25 minutes from Frankfurt am Main airport. We had to leave before breakfast was being served and the owners sent us each off with a packed snack/lunch. It was a nice touch! The hotel is not near any public transportation, so keep that in mind if you are going to/from the airport.

“We visited Aachen for the Christmas market and the hotel's location was excellent for this and also for other shopping areas. Although on a main thoroughfare we had a room overlooking one of the side-streets and it was quiet, the double-glazing very effective. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful and friendly and there were tea etc making facilities in the room which is really nice on a cold winter's day.” Kathy, Fareham |
