No tea/coffee making facilities in room

The proximity to railway station and facilities. The friendly and obliging staff. Cleanliness and environmental awareness. The very obliging lady serving at breakfast. Food was beautifully presented. She ensured that gluten free bread was available for me.

I was very pleased with everything and would recommend the hotel to others.

Reception is fantastic, as well as all othe staff. Very friendly and helpful - can't say enough about them. Breakfast is great - good selection, eggs to order. Location, location, location! This hotel is 2 minute walk to the catherdal, old town, and shopping. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet.

The upholstery in my room was very dirty, surprising for how clean the room was. And the lighting was awful - we are talking bathing suit dressing room lighting! And while it is a smoke free hotel people were smoking in their rooms so if you are sensitive to smoke...no fault of staff. Internet access is very expensive here but, Starbucks is 2 minutes away with free wi-fi.

Good clean and comfortable rooms. Good restaurant food but the breakfast room was very busy and there were insuficent staff to respond to the customer needs. I left without my cooked breakfast. Other than that I will definitely sty there again. The reception staff were great

The hotel was in an awesome location. The Dom is less than a block away and you can see it from your room. The room was nice and if you are new to the European hotels, it is one of the better ones. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice, but the shower would not drain, so you had to turn off the water while lathering up so you wouldn't flood the bathroom. There are shopping opportunities and resturants, bars and pubs all in a very short walking distance, and the river is close by as well, you don't really need to drive at all.

Excellent location - few steps from the Dome Cathedral, shopping/dinning district. Fair guest rooms. Good breakfast.

Need to be update the room furniture. It seems from 80s but in fair conditions...

Good location,price

Very clean and comfortable room. Excellent staff, always tried their very best to help, very friendly also. Breakfast was good, with a good choice. They also make you fresh eggs, sausage and bacon on request. Good for children ad there's a lift. The lift us s bit small to fit the pram and two adults but we managed. Overall, an excellent stay. Will def be going back.

The Senats Hotel is all we needed for our Köln Visit, its a basic hotel just somewhere for us to lay our heads after a day out in the city. If you want to do more than just sleep in it then stay somewhere else. The hotel receptionists were great. Rooms were clean, and included in the room price is a mini bar (great). Bathrooms had shower only, but included soaps, shampoos, conditioner and hair dryer. The hotel is very central to everything I.e 5-10 walk to either Köln train station or the main shopping streets or Köln Cathedral. It is an ideal base for all the Christmas markets. We will definately stay again.

We would have liked a tea tray in the room, but the free mini bar made up for that short coming. Although the bed was a double it was made up with single size sheets and quilt covers which was a bit annoying, (Other German hotels did similar we have stayed in, must the the German way) Breakfast was adequate, but I would have liked a bit more substance to the cooked menu.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, with 2 small children this is very important. All requests were dealt with quickly and with a smile. The location is perfect for the Christmas markets and restaurants.

It is a shame there is no bar area. There were 8 of us in total using 3 rooms but no meeting area.

The location was excellent, with all the tourist attractions and shopping areas in easy walking distance. 2 car parks were also in close proximity. The staff were friendly and helpful. The inclusive breakfast was plentiful and well presented. Beds were comfortable and the rooms being soundproof so it was easy to get a good nights sleep.

The corridors were very clinical and could do with redecorating. The drainage system should be investigated as in the corridor on the 3rd. Floor of south wing there was always a smell of sewage, however this did not affect the bedrooms.
