Excellent location next to cathedral, good news: construction sites (for new underground line) slowly disappearing.

We have stayed many years ago and the expected the service to be comparable. Good parking above hotel reception access is from rear of hotel via a car lift. Access then direct to reception or rooms.Bar service good with selection of limited meals.We expected to see more of a selection in the main restaurant. Breakfast was good with plenty of selection

The room we had for 3 nights was very small and initially cold.It was necessary to ask the reception to reset thermost. Good bathroom and facilities but TV and mini bar took up too much floor space. Anyone shopping had no place to store bags. No storage drawers for clothing and only a small wardrobe. Basically it was only good enough for an overnight stay you need better room if satying longer.

This hotel certainly delivers on every aspect of your trip. From the staff to the breakfast, this hotel was brilliant.

The hotel was very close to the Dom and to the Christmas markets.

The common areas are gorgeous but the hotel rooms are no bigger than a shoe box. We had 2 single beds and could barely walk in the room. The television is built into a cabinet and is very small. There is a speaker for the television in the bathroom which seemed quite odd- you can turn it off but you still hear a bit of echo. The restaurant served excellent food for a high price, but the service was non-existent. Also the breakfast is E24- no accomodation for wanting just a roll and coffee.

The hotel is located near the Cologne Cathedral and very accessible to the Christmas Markets, the reason for my trip. I wished they had included breakfast in the room charge, but overall a fair price for the room and location. On-site parking (20 Euros per day) was an added benefit of staying here if you drive into the city.

The location of the mondial is superb, right in the heart of cologne, the hotel is stunning, spotlessly clean and the staff are brilliant. We came for the Christmas markets and had a wonderful stay at the mondial and will probably be back again next year.

The cost of a continental breakfast is €24 per person per night. So we steered clear of it, however there are so many places to eat in cologne that finding breakfast for €20 between us wasn't a problem. The car parking and Internet access were also quite expensive, however still had a great stay here.

I liked the location best. My husband can only walk short distances and we went to museums, the Cathedral and for views of the Rhine without any difficulty. Also, I found the staff very helpful.

The first room we went to was very small so we switched to a slightly larger room---one of the several services offered by the desk staff. The trade off is that the only larger rooms are a long way from the elevator if that matters. But even the larger room was pretty small. That said, we had a lovely view and were comfortable. The location made it worth it.
