Pleasant atmosphere, fantastic breakfest with fresh coldcuts, wide variety of cheeses, freshly baked breads, salmon etc. Super clean room, with franconian furniture, modern bathroom.Parking in the yard. Perfect location in the old city. Would highly recommend to my friends. Check in time should be extended to at least 10 PM, since the town is on the Romantic Road and a number of other attractions to see, it is hard to time your arrival. Also due to lot of road repair delays are constant. We arrived at 10 pm after an early dinner im Miltentenberg/M and were scoulded for arriving late, the gate was closed and after repeated ringing the owners son-inlaw arrived from an other location to let us in. |

The charm of the hotel hits you when you walk through the doors. Walter, the innkeeper, is a jewel. You are at home from the first minute you arrive. |

Once you are able to find the hotel, the location is very central in the old town and easy to walk everywhere. The host/owner was very friendly and took time to chat with my daughter. Driving around the town to find it. |

The hotel is a lovely old building in a medieval town. It is furnished with painted German pieces and antiques. Bedroom was surprisingly large as was the bathroom in my room. Girls had a bit smaller room with a smaller, but equally modernized bathroom. Breakfast was served by the owners in a spacious and attractive dining room. Parking was available and free in a city with very little parking. |

Quiet and clean room. Comfortable bed. Very nice large bathroom. Good location with parking, and a few blocks from the city center. Fair price for the room. Good value for the money with breakfast included. The entrance to the car parking area is very tight, drive with caution. You have to call someone to come over and let you into the hotel, but that only takes a few minutes. So not a real problem. |

The best part of staying at the Hotel Spitzweg was Walter Hocker, the owner. A very outgoing person who is truly interested in his guests. His English is wonderful and he made it a point to speak with all of his guests, and he is very informative about the town and the area. The hotel is centrally located in the city and there is parking available. There was no elevator...but then it is over 800 years old! And there was no internet available. |

The hotel owner was delightful; he made you feel like you were a guest in his home. The room was very nice with hand painted furniture and a huge bathroom. This hotel was built in 1536, but it is very elegant and gives the feel of being in Rothenburg. Breakfast was excellent. Free parking in the back. Price was very reasonable. Beds were firmer than we like, but everything else was wonderful! |

Location. Hotel without a person in the reception, no lift (we had to carry our bags 3 floors in a very narrow stairs), no shower only bathtube, no formal printed receipt. |

The man running the hotel was extremly helpful and nice! We arrived late at night. It sounds like a little later we would have missed out on the room. This should have been clear on the web site when booking. |

Perfect hospitality by our host. Very generous breakfast delivered with lots of attention. The host helped us find a good restaurant in the evening. When showering we wet the whole floor since there was no shower curtain. |

There is hardly a town in Germany that is more charming and traditional than Rothenburg. |
This 3-star hotel is located in Rothenburg ob der Tauber’s romantic old quarter, in the immediate vicinity of the famous Plönlein bifurcation, just a 5-minute walk from the market square. |
In a picturesque location in this medieval town stands a customs house dating back to 1264. The rooms are individually and lovingly furnished in modern or antique style. |
Visit the smallest hotel in the Old Town of Rothenburg, with breathtaking views over the valley. |
