The hotel was beautiful, in a great location and the staff overall were very friendly.
We ordered room service breakfast, my partner ordered a selection of items from the menu including toast, only to be brought 2 very crusty almost stale bread rolls. I on the other hand opted for poached eggs on toast, the eggs were beautifully cut, but the toast that accompanied them, was more of post stamp size.
On the first night we arrived at the hotel, the bed was beautifully made, but only on getting into bed did we discover that we had been given one single duvet for the two of us. We searched the wardrobe and found no other bedding so called through to reception, who informed us that there was no other bedding and so brought an army blanket and duvet cover for us to use. The following morning I awoke to a swollen face, as a result of duck feather pillows and called and asked for these to be replaced with anti allegen pillows, which they were. Granted we travelled in November / December and extpected it to be cold, but after a very chilly night we also decided to call to reception to see if they could address the bedding situation any further, and we were brought another single duvet. Thankfully we had kept the army blanket as yet another cold and uncomfortable night was had. Much to our dispair the next evening we called and asked for a double duvet to be brought up, and asked for them to bring a heater too, only for a double duvet to be brought. After a little convincing, the member of staff that attended agreed that our air conditioning was broken and indeed blowing out cold air after all this time and soon fetched a heater.
We had planned some busy days shopping and sight seeing so had not worried too much about the do not disturb sign, but if you do fancy and kind of a sleep in I would highly recommend the use of this as every morning any time from 6.30am our door would be opened by a member of house keeping, for what reason, well as they did not have a trolly I have no idea why?!
