Good location So I read the poor reviews of Hotel Herzog Wilhelm-Tannenbaum and truly thought- how bad could it be? Well please do not make the same mistake we made and stay somewhere else! I have travelled all over the world and never met such rude staff. First they charged us twice for the room and when we informed them there was not even an apology and we were out of pocket for exchange rate and going into overdraft. Front of house ignored us for 10 minutes while talking to a friend before allowing us to check in and then when asking for advice literally threw a map at me. The location is great in terms of proximity to the town but horrible if you want to get any sleep. There is major construction works going on next door which begins at 6:30am every morning!! Munich is an amazing city- do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else.

Location is good - walking distance from main attractions. A few hairs on linen was an unexpected addition to the room's amenities.

The location was relatively convenient to the train station (we walked) and there is a convenient restaurant right below. We booked at the last minute so had limited options. The "second bed" was really a fold out couch but our booking reservations indicated it was a two room reservation, implying two beds. When we asked at the front desk, they said that was not what had been reserved for us. With no other options, we were stuck with what we got. The carpet was filthy with multiple stains. The one window was broken and could not be used (big sign on it saying "defect"). The breakfast was just ok - they did make more eggs when we requested one, which was nice. For the money, I think a hostel would have been a better (and cheaper) choice in hindsight.

Excellent location to Ocktoberfest and short walk to old Town, nice but simple breakfast , very clean room. Would stay here again, nothing fancy but exceeded our expectations. Many thanks Lack of hot water, didnt bother complaining so only ourselves to blame but otherwise very happy

The only good thing about this hotel is it's location - very close to U-bahn so easy to get around city using public transportation. This hotel is over-priced and in serious need of a make-over. We chose this hotel as we are a family of 5 and need larger rooms when traveling - this hotel had the space we needed, one large room divided into two with a shared bathroom. When we checked in, the first thing I noticed was the stained, threadbare carpets and cheap furniture, but we were only staying for 2 nights so I figured we'd just put up with it. However, the lack of hot water was an issue ... in 2011, hot water should not be a luxury that's rationed, especially when you are paying $275 per night! We were lucky if our showers were lukewarm. The construction going on next door just added insult to injury with work starting early each morning. No air conditioning. My advice - look elsewhere.

Ok, where do I start? The first room we were given was awful. Way too small, way too shabby. I wish I could share photos with you, because I did take some. A prison's cell would have been better. Thank God, they did give us another room, this time at Tannenbaum. They said they couldn't give us a baby crib though. The room at Tannenbaum was better, but still it was definitely not worth the price. No mini bar? Jesus... There were stairs at the entrance, we had to struggle every time to carry the baby's pushchair. Breakfast was served over at Herzog-Wilhem (the reception was there too) and it was nothing special. We didn't even bother to eat breakfast there except for the first morning. I would never go back and I would never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. Oh! Did I mention that our room was not tidied up the second day??

I do not like this hotel at all, it is not a 3 star hotel - level is more like a cheap hostel not the hotel for business trip. My room was stinking very badly and the price is completely unjustified ( 109EU ). It was not possible to get connected to the internet ( mentioned at the web site ), there is no parking place for this hotel - what they are mentioning is a public park place along the Herzog street. There are a lot of noises comming from parties beeing held in the park that is in front of the hotel. I highly discourage everyone to stay there.

In only 300 words ? The staff was rude, unhelpful, and plain clueless. Their english skills were mediocre (and i'm being nice when I say that). They had us walk around, at night in freezing temperatures with our luggage, to find their neighboring hotel, because of their lack of clarity in their directions. The internet didn't work for the entire time I was there: 3 nights! The front desk was totally unhelpful in solving the problem. The heat never turned off. The temperate outside was 0 degree C - and I had to sleep with the window open otherwise i would boil. Very long to check out, and not enough staff to handle the process. i found someone else's hair in my bed. gross.

Location and value for money. The internet was not working for all 3 days during our stay. Check out was very slow as they only had 1 person working the front desk.

The room was quite clean. Perfect location, just near metro station and in the heart of the city. Old furniture. The breakfast wasn't very good. Not a lot of varieties of dishes.

The location was excellant close to the shopping district marianplatz and the breakfast was nice there was enough to eat. The only problem was our room was around the corner in another building from where we checked in and right next door was construction going on about 7am in the morning so there was no chance of sleeping in.

I love this hotel. This is the third time we've stayed here over the past three years. Excellent location, good service and reasonable price. The hotel needs a little remodeling. When we first stayed in 2008 it was newly remodeled. This year the carpet was showing quite a bit of wear, but it was clean.

Perfect "Wiesn-Hotel". Everything in the immediate vicinity. The multi-bed rooms are perfect for groups. Unfortunately the toilet was not-so-clean.
