This family-run hotel in Schmalkalden is set in scenic countryside in the Thuringian Forest. The Teichhotel offers country-style rooms, free Wi-Fi and a traditional restaurant with outdoor terrace. Schlichte aber schöne Zimmereinrichtung mit viel Platz, kostenloses WLAN, moderner Fernseher, gemütliches Restaurant. Bedienung im Restaurant ist sehr professionell mit den nicht ganz so ruhigen kleinen Kindern umgegangen. Die Qualität des Abendessens war exzellent. Betten mit geschlossenem Fußende sind für große Leute (ab 1,90cm aufwärts) nicht ganz ideal

Hervorragend ist das hotelinterne Restaurant und der freundliche Service. Außerdem lud das liebevoll eingerichtete Doppelzimmer mit dem großen hellen Bad zum Wohlfühlen ein. Desweiteren gehört ein reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet mit zum tollen Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!

- sehr sauber - unkompliziert - gute Parkmöglichkeiten - das DG-Zimmer bot leider keine Möglichkeit, die Fenster mit Rollos zu verdunkeln - durch das Bettlaken konnte man Zeitung lesen - das Frühstück war übersichtlich

Das Teichhotel bietet eine hervorragende Küche, welche wir in Schmalkalden nicht besser gefunden haben. Auch in großer Runde mit 12 Personen dort zu Abend gegessen und dabei die Küche breit ausgetestet - alles sehr gut und mit großer Freude genossen. Auch der Service und die Freundlichkeit der Bedienung sind lobenswert. In der gegenüberliegenden "Mehrzweckhalle am neuen Teich" mit darin befindlicher Bar "Wunder-Bar" finden unregelmäßig Disco-Veranstaltungen statt. Die Lärmbelästigungen durch ungedämmt das Gebäude verlassende Bass-Töne und die bis zum Morgen laufende Veranstaltung mit entsprechendem Lärm durch die Besucher/Autos vom direkt angrenzenden Großparkplatz lassen Schlaf absolut nicht zu! Wer im Teichhotel übernachten möchte, vor allem am Wochenende oder Feiertagen sollte sich vorher beim Hotelbetreiber versichern, ob eine Veranstaltung in der Bar oder der Halle stattfindet - sonst kann man in der Nacht alles tun, nur nicht schlafen und das Hotel würde seinen hauptsächlichen Zweck nicht erfüllen.
