Clean, friendly, close to the main train station and an easy walk to many interesting places

first sent me to their other hotel a few blocks away, then told me room wasnt ready although check in time had already come. but given the fair price so no big deal..

I liked it being close to all transportation. Area not too hot but we had no problems, can be noisy at night but still slept well. Dining staff have permanent long faces. The one manager was lovely very accomodating, even personally delivered us a tray to our room with tea, very nice of him as we were exhausted and dying for a cuppa ! He also made sure he was available to help us lug our heavy bags down the entrance stairs, nice man. Cleaners were great every day and oh so friendly, cleaners should rather be in the dining room. Breakfast was quite fine, nothing fancy but good enough ! We were in the Lumen Hotel metres away which is the sister hotel.

Dining staff very miserable and some reception gentlemen rather unfriendly. Otherwise no complaints as we did return to Hamburg a week later and rebooked in the same hotel !

On booking in we were told that we were staying in the sister hotel Hotel Linden slightly further down the road. We stayed 2 nights and on returning to our room at the end of the first day discovered it had not been cleaned or beds made. The duty manager's response was to shrug his shoulders and say nothing could be done. It took a visit to the Hotel Terminus to ensure we at least had clean towels. I think this is an unacceptable level of service and for this reason would not recommend booking this hotel.

Really lovely staff

Friendly and helpful deskstaff and other staff. Really comfortable bed. Clean room and bathroom, no luxury, but adequate. Good choice for continental breakfast. Close to the main station for easy access to city transport systems and within walking distance of shopping areas and the main town square.

Would have liked a broader range of television programmes in other languages. Though if you have a laptop with you, wifi is free.

The room faced the narrow courtyard and therefore could not be adequately ventilated = perhaps an airconditioner would help

The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. The hotel is very convenient for the city centre.

Complimentary tea and coffee in the room would have been appreciated. The hotel is on the edge of the city's 'red light' district- this may put some people off, but we didn't find it a problem.

The lift was not aligned to the floors (i.e. the lift door was midway between the first and second floors), which would have caused problems for anyone with mobility difficulties.

It was close to the train station. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Internet access available.
