    A bed to sleep in.

Every road in the town had been dug up, so you had to walk over unsteady planks in and out of the hotel! We were woken very early the following morning by the workmen digging the roads! The hotel closed at 7pm, so you were left to fend for yourself after this time. No restaurant, no lift, just an old spiral staircase which isn't any use to someone with a disability! After 7pm you had to let yourself in and out of the hotel. The bar was on an honesty basis. i.e. you poured yourself a drink and wrote in a book what you had had. Considering the lack of facilities in this hotel, I have no idea how it got a four star rating. I suppose the little town will be quaint when it's put back together again, but I would strongly recommend that anyone keeps away for some time yet as it's in a really bad way. Not even a complementary glass of wine was offered for all this inconvenience, it was a disgrace!

They booked us into a room literally overlooking a building site whose workers started yelling and operating their crane at 6:30am. Hotel staff gave us no warning before we arrived or as we were checking in, and did not apologize when we complained the next day. We checked out early.

Beautifully renovated old house with lots of antiques and pictures. Selection of wines and cheeses

Disappointed that the restaurant was not open.
