We liked everything. Staff, room (with balcony), view of Trier and hills on other side of Mosel, breakfast (first class), free car park, free wi-fi. Plus the Germans we met at the hotel and in Trier were all polite, friendly and very helpful. Also no bare or tattooed bodies anywhere.Trier is a brilliant place to stay especially if you like Roman history. So top marks to the Germans from us. There was nothing we disliked about Villa Hugel.

We really enjoyed the facilities and of course the great breakfast. The staff were really friendly and had always a smile on their faces. Unfortunately the sounds of our radiator were quiet annoying and woke us up at 3:30AM.

Hotel Villa Hügel is just a very nice hotel with charming localities. The hotel is all over very clean, and all the important details are well thought through. The staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. In particular the sauna and pool were nice, and also the breakfast buffet should be positively mentioned . The room had a good size, and a nice view overlooking Trier. The city centre is 15 minutes away by foot, but if one is not able to walk - take a taxi or bus. For us this was absolutely valu for money, and we woiuld hghly recommend it. We'll would very much like to come back. During our 1 night stay we did not note anything on the negative side.

This Hotel is fantastic. The service was very good (the staff was very nice and helpful) and we were very impressed by the facility, the rooms and how comfortable our stay was. We had a wonderful terrace and, while we did not use the pool, we thought it looked great. We especially loved the breakfast, as it had a great selection and high quality foods. Lots of cold and warm options. When in Trier we'll definitely try to stay at the Hotel Villa Hugel again. We were a bit disappointed that there were no English channels on TV except for CNN (no paid tv either). We were not often in our room, but in the evening after dinner we would have enjoyed watching a movie... The other small thing was that the double bed had two twin mattresses put together, with two separate duvets. While very comfortable and lush, we always prefer a double mattress and blankets.

May I move in there now? I chose this hotel because of the reviews. It was the middle of a European vacation for me as a solo traveller and I planned to rest for a day. My room was wonderful! Large and comfortable. An outdoor patio with a table and chairs. Lovely view. A comfy robe was waiting. Details were amazing in the room and throughout the hotel. Beautiful touches everywhere. The breakfast was completely delicious with a large selection. Small personal teapots with brewed teas available. The pool was very warm and immaculate. Whatever I asked for the staff was happy to provide. It seemed as though their job was to take any worries off of my shoulders. Although it's not in the city center, I enjoyed the walk to get there was pretty. Really special.

Very nice facility with great service; provided a good location for a stopover on my way to Luxembourg, and much better value than provided by hotels in Luxembourg itself.

All hotel staff that i met are very helpful and friendly, checking in and out is very smooth. I love the buffet breakfast, everything is prepared and displayed nicely, with 6-8 choices of tea-leaf (not tea-bags) and coffee, various kind of eggs /omelettes amongst other cold meat, fish and paste. Really awesome ! the environment of the swimming pool and sauna is very pleasant and relaxed. I love my room too, and how they named every room rather than numbers.

The best thing about this hotel was the staff who were uniformly warm and welcoming. It is an unusual design incorporating an old house with a newer annex. Our rooms were in the older section and were wonderfully spacious and well appointed. The location was away from the city centre but very close to the main Roman attractions (the baths and arena were in easy walking distance). Trier is not a well known tourist destination here in Canada but was a most interesting and enjoyable place.

Quiet location being just out of the main city centre on a hill with lovely views. Well appointed rooms with excellent staff who were very helpful & owners who go out of there way to make your stay comfortable. Wonderful breakfasts and excellent food in the restaurant. Would stay there again without any hesitation.

I loved everything about this hotel... the rooms were light and lovely, the staff very friendly and helpful and spoke good English (even though they were good with our mangled German too) and the facilities and food were all excellent. I wish we had stayed longer. The only thing is that it is a little way out of the main Aldstadt part of town, but we enjoyed the easy walk to get to the main tourist sites (it is also fairly close to the Amphitheater). Everything else was fantastic, would highly recommend this hotel.

The staff at this hotel is excellent, and the rooms are wonderful. I read another review and decided to spend the few extra dollars for a deluxe room and did not regret it. We arrived early for our reservation and they were kind enough to get our room ready early. The location was perfect for us, walking distance to the main part of town and a short cab ride to the hospital we were visiting. The bar was very accomodating, and the food for both breakfast and dinner was delicious, and a good value for the money. The only thing that would make it better is if it had air conditioning. The days we spent there were rainy, so it wasn't really a problem, but we could see how it could be one during warmer weather.

Already impressed by our previous visit to this hotel some ten years ago, we were even more pleasantly surprised this time by the wonderful warm and friendly reception from the younger generation of the family, now responsible for the running of the hotel, and by the fabulous extension to the hotel with new rooms and swimming pool/sauna. A special word for the breakfast which is the most amazing experience with an unsurpassable range of items - a true gastronomic feast!
