Exceptional cleanliness and very friendly helpful staff. Convenient location. Despite quite a busy road the soundproofed windows worked well. As a Brit, I would have so appreciated simple tea/coffee making facility in the room

Where to start -The Villa Marstall is located right on the Neckar river. Be sure to ask for a room with river view. Worth paying a few euros more for the deluxe room. They upgraded our room on second day without a glitch. The hotel oozes with old world charm. The staff is extremely efficient, pleasant, and all have a lot of enthusiasm. The rooms are spotless. We happened to be there for 5 nights. One of those nights was during the recent flooding so breakfast was not able to be served in the beautiful vaulted Breakfast room. The staff brought food up to the lobby and made countless trips back and forth without complaint to serve the guests in the lobby. The owners were right there and were extremely pleasant and apologetic. Everything was back to normal the next morning. These people know how to run a hotel and we highly recommend it. Would go back in a minute.

Everything! A great hotel with comfortable rooms overlooking the Salzach river. The staff (especially Sameera) were friendly and extremely helpful. Good breakfast (at an extra cost of EUR10/person). Nothing.

1.The room is very romantic and mysterious. It's amazing! wonderful. Those europe style beds you can see in famous museums which may belong to king or queen. The ceiling is decorated by golden line. All curtains are white, and white wooden window-shades . 2.It's a quiet hotel, you can not hear the guests talk. 3.The location is perfect, standing in front of the hotel entrance, you may see the famous double tower! 1.The breakfast 2.Liveing in the river side room,a little bit noisy, and the lights of the traffic cars flash. I didn't sleep well. 3.Two steps in the room ,be careful!

Great location bang in the centre of Heidelberg's old town, lovely room, great friendly staff. Shame the free internet was only via a network cable, which is pretty useless for an iPad.

I liked the overall style of the hotel and our room. Very nice and romantic with a really good view of the water (river) and mountain. The location was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Before my stay all my emails were answered promptly. My favorite part though was the fresh air being pumped into the room. I miss having air conditioning and this was the closest thing to it. This was a really good feature about our room. I would come back and stay again. I would also recommend this to friends. The bed was a little hard but most beds in Germany are. I would of liked more pillows as well to kind of try to make up for the hardness of the bed. Also, I know it's hard in Germany but i would of enjoyed watching a movie in English. Rather than just CNN or BBC. Both very depressing channels to watch. If not maybe a little radio. If there was one I didn't see it.

Room 21 was wonderful, very romantic and relaxing and with superb view on the Neckar river. Position is very good, in the middle of the old city. I would certainly suggest this hotel to other people. I suppose half of the rooms (as our was) face on the road running aside the river: during the day/early evening there is quite high traffic, thus opening the windows is not suggested. Anyway, no problems during the night.
