1. Great location just minutes from a subway/train station. U3 connecting you to main locations like Rathaus, Landungsbrücken and Jungfernstieg. 2. Extremally helpful and friendly staff able to give us all needed information about events, places to see, locations to eat etc. 3. Lovely breakfast served in a charming hotel lobby. Great variety. 4. 24h coffee/tea dock. 5. 24h reception. 6. Great location for a city break.
Reception, staff availability and kindness, decoration, noise insulation, appropriate mattress.
High floors, lot of stairs (no lift), no reception in night-period (key entry), no air conditionning, no closet in a room. Nothing to do with the service but the close district is of a repellent dirt and it's clearly disreputable. The southeast of the main station is a very ethnic neighbourhood and there's critical crime: one can cross paths with some riff-raff, Roms, criminals who target the tourists. Some people roam at night, in close proximity to the street. Most of them are peaceful but it must be recognized that it's a pretty rough neighbourhood.
Proffesional management and staff. Good breakfast. Large room.
Staff really friendly and helpful, charming ambience. Breakfast and check-out times very relaxed. Bathroom top notch. Short walk from central station.
With a bad knee, the stairs were a bit of an effort. Didn't know about 'Kulture tax' until checking out
Pleasant stay as usual. Got the room that I asked for when the booking was made.
Personable owner who went out of his way to be helpful and location close to the train station, shopping and restaurants.
Area right next to the train station is a bit seedy.
■ Friendly and service-minded staff ■ Very nice breakfast buffet included in the price ■ Great ambience in the entire hotel with the rococo style interior and decor ■ Very closely located to Hamburg Hbf (less than 5 minutes walk) ■ All in all we can recommend other couples to pay Hotel Vilage a visit should you happen to go to Hamburg.
■ No elavator, but reasonable carpeted stairway ■ WIFI a bit dodgy and unreliable ■ The hotel is located in a "lively" street, so be aware at nighttime
Good position, near the Central station. Really kind staff, good breakfast with nice buffet. Small hotel, nice ambience.
The wifi was sometimes down. Not possible to pay with electronic credit card.
Comfortable room, helping staff, nice free breakfast
Sketchy neighbor, however, we never felt unsafe even if we came back to the hotel at 2 am every night. It's close from the U- / S- ban so you don't have to walk a long way to go back to the hotel, also there's a kebab right beside the hotel so there's always a lot a people
I really loved the location close to nice bars areas and the hotel is very nice.
The wi-Fi was so slow, it worked very bad. That's the only bad thing.
nosie at the night
The hotel is close to the central station and the main shopping area. The breakfast is good and the beds comfortable. The room is quiet during the nights despite the hotel's central location.
The smells from the fast food restaurants nearby draft into the stairs and tend to seep into the room.
Significant and funny surpricingly individual designed rooms.
Interesting room decor with Mirrors on the ceiling. Close to the U Bahn Very helpfull and friendly recptionist.
Great location, very close to the train station and city center. Breakfast is really awesome. Nice vintage rooms. Staff is very very friendly. Specially Bernd. Bernd is great.
The location is good as it is five minutes from the main central station with lots of possibilities to reach the rest of the city. The Lange Reihe is near by (really good restaurants and bars). The only minus is that the street is a little rough e.g. prostitution
We have been there before where we liked the hotel, but this time we got a room where there was no door and/or wall to the toilet - too intimate for my taste. Beside that it was supposed to be the honeymoon suite but there was no suite about it. Unfortunately one of the staff were very unpolilte during the breakfast
Proximity to the railway station
- typical old style hotel - friendly ambiance - close to main station
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic, cold meats and cheese, cereals, breads, fruit and a boiled egg. Room was v large with a balcony and had all the essentials, incl a mini hairdryer. The toilet and shower were completely open plan to the rest of the room which is fine for a solo traveller but maybe others may not be comfortable with it. Location is good, right next to the Hbf. I was attending a conference at the Messe and I could take the U1 from practically outside the hotel door a couple of stations to Stephansplatz and then a 2 minute walk through the park. So functionally the location is good, but the area itself isn't very pretty or close to touristy spots. Didn't use their WiFi but I know they have it.
I was in Room #51 and it has an animal motif. I'm talking leopard-print lamp hangings and chairs, peacock feather carpet. red velour cushions and gold-red wallpaper. Felt like I was on a porn set. I saw one of the other rooms and it wasn't decorated this way so maybe ask if you can choose! Or maybe you like animal print, to each his own I guess. There is no lift so keep that in mind if you have a heavy bag. There were some hairs on the bed and carpet, definitely not mine coz I'm not blonde, and some of the lights on the wall were hanging out of their sockets.
no thing !!!! frustrated
No elevator , very difficult to carry luggage ourself ,really I regret my choice of this hotel
Very quiet area Own appartment Clear instructions Very good WiFi TV, stereo, equipied kitchen Extra pillows, towels Trust given to the customers 12 minutes walking to the main train station 2 min walking to the bus stop Well designed
Hairdryer seems dangerous
