Roland, the owner, is a great guy that will be helpful about any info needed.
Friendly owner. Everything nice and clean. Good price.
Bed wasn't very comfortable - don't expect luxury and you'll be fine here.
this is an apartment. The Host Roland is a nice guy. Location is central 4 stops to Hauptbahnhof.
no shampoo in bath no slippers
Good quality for that price. Good location (10 minutes from central railway station). Near this place is supermarket. Nice and helpful owner. In room there is a lot of books that can be read by guests (unfortunately, almost all in German).
It was inexpensive and clean. Close to the city center. Posted pictures of the accommodations are accurate.
This is not a hotel but a private apartment on the 6th floor of a highrise apartment building in a densely populated residential area. Parking is difficult. You have to have cash on hand - no credit card payments. Internet access was offered for 1 Euro but did not work.
good access to town and good price
a little strange as is in a tower block but was fine
Friendly and helpful staff, fairly clean and very cheap.
Hard to find, uncomfortable beds, very hot with no AC.
Price, flexibility of staff (owner) regarding check-in time, location close to Autobahn 5.
The bathroom was not dirty but could be even more clean (polishing the pipes etc.).
Cheap, and comfortable separate rooms. Helpful host. Kitchen.
Its the owners house too, "Reception" is in his lounge room... Far from center of Freiburg
Excellent value for the money, beds are comfy, it has shared kitchen with other room and is very well equiped, there's free coffee and tea. Bathroom (shared) is very nice and everything was very clean. I would recommend it!
I would love that could be more signals of where the hostels is. Since is the 6th floor of an apartment building. WiFi signal was very weak in my room
It was a surprise that this was not a commercial hotel but an enterprise run from a private apartment in a large apartment building. That said, the ordinary bedroom was adequate, and the proprietor was quite friendly and accommodating. Parking was easy, and there is a convenient tram to the center of the city.
Apartment with 3 bedrooms in a residential block very clean and basic with kitchen. Very close to shops and restaurants. Ideal stop over on route to Italy as very close to motorway and Swiss border.
Its ok if you book the whole apartment otherwise you will share bathroom. But nothing else negative as best value accommodation I have found
You need to tram or bus into the city centre
Room and toilets were clean and comfortable. Hot showers. Small supermarket nearby. Frequent and direct bus connection from the main train station, which is only a short distance away. Extremely value for money.
We avoided many potential problems by reading reviews of other travellers. Look out for an apartment building, not a hotel/hostel. We rang the doorbell of "R. Oetjens" but wasn't answered. Finally managed to put a call through to Roland, who gave us instructions for check-in. It was about a 5min walk from the bus stop which was good, but solo female travellers may find it a little uncomfortable at night as its extremely quiet (I was travelling with another female friend).
The room was very nice, nice view from the window Nice staff
Hard to find the entrance (the hotel is placed just in an apartment in a dwelling-house) Too far from city center
진짜 친절하고 아저씨 짠 착합니다. 뱅기 같이 타고 갔는데, 뱅기타기위해 묵는다면 더할나우ㅏ 없이 좋아요
the room was not ready at the time of check-in internet wasn't working
Rodland was a wonderful host, I've never had a more trusting person to work with for the two days I stayed.
The fact that it was on the 6th floor was different but the view from of the mountains would never have been seen if closer to the ground. Finding a car parking spot was the most challenging thing of this experience.
clean, safe room in quiet residential area close to cafes and tram
bit difficult to find, as on 6th floor of block, clear instructions would solve.Easy once I had spoken to the owner
The owner is a very kind and nice person. The "style" of the place is special: I liked the Japanese writings on the doors
The place is in a common building. There are no indications outside and I got confused when I arrived. I had to phone in order to have confirmation about the right address and to know that the reception and the rooms are at the 6th floor.
The room was really clean and quiet and the price really good for Freiburg standards
the location is a bit remote and a car is needed. The lady there does not speak English
not so comfortable
The location was quite okay, just a 10min ride by tram to the CBD of Freiburg. The single room I had booked was badically okay. The owner was helpful and friendly.
Even though everything was basically fine, there were a few things I didn't like: 1. It is not a hostel or hotel. I ended up standing in front of a huge residential house, with about 80 residents living there, in which Roland Oetjens , the owner of the 'hostel', just happens to let rooms of his two apartments to travellers. 2. There wasn't a sign at the 80 different door bells that would indicate that there is a hostel, let alone where to ring. After about 15 minutes I figured out that in the middle of the 80 door beels was Roland Oetjens last name, so I hit this door bell and he opened up the door by buzzer. 3. I only had a room, there was no kitchen and no communal area. However, he did give me a water kettle and some dishes and cutlery, as I asked for it. But still, I was expecting to meet other travellers and to be able to cook something. This was impossible. Overall, I wouldn't stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to other travellers. Part of the travelling experience is, to meet other travellers and discover and learn about a place together with others.
Having a kitchen, a balcony, a big room, so much books to read (but in german...), being like at home. Texting with the owner.
We had so much trouble to find the building wich is in a residence (a condo), that's unusual...
