This hotel sits in the Ilsetal valley on the outskirts of Ilsenburg and on the borders of the Harz Mountains national park, boasting 155 miles of hiking trails. The 3-star Waldhotel am Ilsestein was completely modernized and renovated during November and December 2008. The Waldhotel offers romantic, cozy rooms with modern amenities including free internet access. Relax in the Waldhotel am Ilsestein’s spa area, which includes an indoor swimming pool (26 ft x 16 ft), two saunas, which are free of charge, as well as a solarium, infrared cabin and massages. Other facilities the hotel has to offer are a pool table and ping-pong room, foosball and bowling. Additionally, there are two play rooms for children, a reading room and a small library. In the morning, enjoy a hearty breakfast buffet. In the evening, dine on regional specialties, including game, in the restaurant, with adjoining sun room from which you have views of the surrounding forest and the Ilse stream. Finish off your day with a drink at the bar. Right outside the hotel’s doors you can pick up the hiking trail leading you to the Brocken, the Harz Mountains’ highest peak. Vriendelijk personeel. Compleet aanbod op gebied van welness Ontbijt Rookmogelijkheid 1. stank op de gang van de derde verdieping (luchtjes uit de keuken?). 2. kleine hotelkamer 3. kwaliteit van het eten uit de keuken was "standaard", geen hoog nivo 4. met andere gasten aan één tafel lunchen en dineren: geen privacy 5. onduidelijkheid over rookmogelijkheid (in de serre mag je roken, maar daar zaten 's ochtends ook andere gasten te ontbijten).

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht realistisch; die gute Ausgangslage zum Aufstieg auf den Brocken lässt man sich sehr gut bezahlen; die "Wellnessanlage" (2 Saunen und ein Schwimmbad) ist absolut nicht einladend sehr empfehlenswert ist das Hotel "Im Ilsetal" etwa 400 m stadteinwärts (waren hier zum Abendessen), minimal etwas teurer, aber hier ist der Preis gerechtfertigt.

Gute Lage,direkt am Wald gelegen,viele Wandermöglichkeiten ca.10km bis zum Brocken. Komfort des Zimmers. Minifernseher aus der Wendezeit (rft) mit schlechtem Bild und wenig verfügbaren Programmen.Das Radio ging auch nicht.Im Bad fehlte die Lampenabdeckung. Das Frühstück war in Ordnung aber das Abendessen für ein 3 Sterne Hotel sehr schlecht.Wenige Gerichte auf der Karte von 5 Gerichten nur 4 zur Wahl.Geschmeckt hat es auch nicht,nur Dosengmüse und Feinfrostbratkartoffeln,dazu ein warmes Bier. Unser Tipp: die Straße etwas weiter unten im Kurhotel kann man sehr gut essen.

# Sehr ruhige Lage an der Ilse auf dem Weg zum Naturpark und zum # Brocken. Der Service im Haus hat mithin etwas gelitten, die Mitarbeiter scheinen wenig motiviert zu sein.

Nette Mitarbeiter die kinderfreundlich sind. Das Kinderbett wurde gratis ins Zimmer gestellt. Statt des gebuchten Doppelzimmers haben wir ein Doppelzimmer (mit zwei Zimmern) erhalten. Das Hotel liegt unmittelbar am Zugang zu den Ilsefällen. Ein direkter Wanderweg führt vom Hotel zum Brocken. Schwimmingpool und Sauna sind vorhanden. Alles vorhanden und funktionstüchtig, dennoch könnte das Bad eine Renovierung vertragen.

Personal an der Rezeption sehr freundlich. Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut. Im Restaurant war die Speisenauswahl sehr übersichtlich. Die Portionen waren für den Preis ziemlich klein.

Die Lage des Hotels ist toll. Preis -Leistung ist annehmbar. Das erste Frühstück war chaotisch! Es war im Gegensatz zu den anderen Zimmern kein Tisch für uns reserviert. Büfett wurde (wenn überhaupt) sehr schleppend nachgefüllt. In der Sauna gibt es weder einen vernünftigen Ruheraum noch genug Liegen .Was im Falle lärmender badender Kinder (was verständlich ist!) sehr störend wirkt.

Die Lage des Hotels mitten in der Natur und die gemütlichen Einrichtungen. Mehr Auswahl am Frühstücksbuffet wäre gut. Es gab kein Gemüse, wenig Obst und nur Sonntags gab es Fisch.
