Waldhotel Stein was a pleasant surprise for us since we ended up staying there accidentally. The location is stunning, the view magnificent, and staff very attentive. If we would have known about the details of the facility we would have stayed not only one night. If you are looking for a very relaxing stay, that is the place to go.

The location is very pleasant, in the hills to the east of Bayreuth, the hotel being set in pleasant grounds with extensive and good views from some parts of the hotel. We were visiting Bayreuth for the Wagner festival adn it made a good base for such a stay. The food in the restaurant was good.

The room we had was large but expensive, and did not really have facilities (other than its size) which justified the rate. We were surprised, for example, that there was no shower, other than a hand-held shower in the bath. The service was generally fair but sometimes not very prompt.

All staff were very friendly and helpful. I particularly liked the restaurant, which stayed open very late for opera goers, and served me a meal at midnight. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful - everything one could possbly want to start the day. I also appreciated the fresh fruit and chocolate which I received on my arrival. It's a little out of town, and I mainly used the local bus or taxi. A hire car would have been useful.

Wir kennen das Hotel seit Jahrzehnten. Es ist eine solide, ruhig gelegene Unterkunft für Festspielbesucher.

Einige Renovierungsmassnahmen hätten unserem Zimmer nicht geschadet.

Absolut utopische Presie im Restaurant. Die Speisekarte ist ein absoluter Witz. Die Preise......normalerweise müsste der Chef ins Gefängnis dafür. 16€ für ein Bauernomelette für eine Kinderportion..unverschämt..... Das war das günstigste Gericht auf der Karte außer den Suppen..... Russische schlecht deutsch sprechende Bedienung, vom Fach keine Ahnung, der Weißwein wurde in einer kleinen Blumenvase serviert..... Frühstück erst ab 7:00 Uhr, Buffet war dann um halb 8 endlich aufgebaut Brötchen vom Vortag, die nicht mal aufgebacken wurden, 2 Sorten Käse und Wurst, keine Spiegeleier etc., Nutella aus dem Kühlschrank, Butter aus dem Tiefkühlfach...

Das Hotel liegt sehr schön und hat ein großes Schwimmbad. Das Zimmer ist groß und schön mit gutem Badezimmer. Das Restaurant bietet gutes Essen und freundlichen Service.

Föhn, funktionierendes Telefon und Auflagen für die Liegestühle auf dem schönen Balkon fehlten und mussten erst angefordert werden. Es gab keine Liste mit internen Telefonnummern, sodass die Nummer der Rezeption über das externe Festnetz erfragt werden musste. Das sind Kleinigkeiten, die bei einem Hotel diesen Anspruchs und dieser Preisklasse aber verärgern.

Huoneiden välinen äänieristys oli ainakin siinä rakennuksessa, jossa itse majoituin suhteettoman huono. Naapurihuoneen puhe ja liikkeet kuuluivat seinän läpi. Samoin parvekkeen jakaminen naapurin kanssa oli ikävää, mitään näkösuojaa ei välillä ollut - kumpaankaan suuntaan. Huoneen sisutus oli kyllä todella menneiltä vuosikymmeniltä.

Sehr ruhig gelegen, gut zum Erholen. Sehr schöne Zimmer.

Internetverbindung funktionierte nicht.

J'ai apprécié le paysage à perte de vue, le calme, la grande taille des chambres et de la salle de bain, le confort du grand lit douillet, la terrasse avec ses chaises longues, le petit déjeuner dans le parc bien aménagé, les parkings pratiques.

Un peu loin de la ville, voiture ou taxi nécessaire.
