Hotel Andres lies in a quiet side street in the heart of Bamberg’s Old Town, a 2-minute walk from Bamberg Main Station. It offers and warmly decorated rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 392 reviews Good
Room was large, very comfortable. Quiet, close to square.
At times, difficulty with WiFi. Could use some more sweets at breakfast.
The front reception person went above and behond to help us upgraded our room help us arrange to cancel a double booking and also helped with information on places to go and things to see
location, parking space, cleaniness, friendly staff
One of the surprises of our trip as this was really only a stop over. Beautiful little hotel in a beautiful little town. Breakfast buffet was good and there were some lovely restaurants in the town.
Free WiFi but poor signal meant it was all but unusable in the room. There was building work taking place opposite the hotel and it was very noisy from 6 am but the hotel cannot be blamed for that.
Very central location.
Pillows are absolutely appalling, and nowhere to have a cup of coffee or tea in the Hotel except at breakfast.
Its well situated in old town. Nice breakfast. We had a 3 bed room wich was spacious, but the toilet was separate from bathroom, which can be good in some situations and bad in others. The hotel is in a old house so its beautiful details inside. We came to early but could leave our bags in the hotel before check in.
No elevator. No aircond and it gets hot in summer. To expensive for what you get. Not so well cleand bathroom found hair in the shower.
A bit noisy - mostly from outside
No aircondition, it was really warm and opening of the window almost impossible because lots of noice outside .
Location good, rooms nice.
Breakfast not great; The worst problem was that there are no staff in the hotel after 8pm. Should you have an emergency - or need something late at night, there's simply nobody there. There were a variety of numbers available for you to ring - some in the bedroom and one on the front door. We tried all of them - only one answered and, even though we had dialled the number correctly, the person at the other end claimed to know nothing about the hotel. I wouldn't stay there again.
The location is fantastic, in the middle if the old town, lots of restaurants and shops right outside the doors. The room size is very good, in fact it is very spacious for an old town location.
No wifi reception in the room in my 2nd floor room. No ventilation when it is hot. If you open the window at night, it can get very loud because the hotel is so central. If you leave it closed, it gets really stuffy and hot in summer. My bed and pillow are also not comfortable, I woke up with bad pain.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Weierich for two nights as we explored and enjoyed this wonderful city. This hotel could not have a better location...two blocks from the Altes Rathaus, 5 minutes from the dom and right in the middle of the Altstat. The hotel was constructed in the 1300s and has a beautiful spiral staircase and the common areas reflect this nostalgic flair. Bedrooms were updated and spacious for European standards, but nothing special. We were given a suite that had a double bed in the main room and a twin the in extra bedroom. I had booked only a double bed on booking.com. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The free breakfast had many options and one morning the waiter asked if we had any special request as he walked to the bakery across the street to get some "Bamberg croissants". My wife and I fell in love with this city and it is definitely a place we both hope to return.
Delicious breakfast Central location, close to Bamberg sites and restaurants, yet quiet Spacious rooms
everything, the staff was great, location to the old area, breakfast
Staff very helpful, great location for visiting the breweries in the city
Location...ideal for visiting the sights of beautiful Bamberg Lovely room overlooking a quiet side street and old bakery. Very comfortable bed. Good breakfast. We would certainly use this hotel again and recommend it to friends.
Parking arrangements. It is possible to 'book' a car parking space with prior arrangement with the hotel but the there is a car height restriction of 1.5 metre.Other Car parks are,a good walk away from the hotel ,public and not secure.Cost for 24hrs.8 euro or if you want to be a bit nearer the hotel..16e.for 24hrs..A car park opposite the hotel [not 24 hrs.] at least gives an opportunity to unload your baggage. We arrived in the morning but our room wasn't availabe until 15hrs.I guess she was busy but I didn't feel the receptionist was very welcoming. She seemed 'put out' that the she had no record of us cancelling the arranged car space..We left our luggage and went out!
A delightful blend of contemporary and traditional German style of hotel. Our room at least was tastefully updated and very comfortable. Breakfast is an expansive buffet in a sunlit setting, during which the most beautiful girl in Germany brings out coffee.
A single free login to wi-fi before having to pay extra does seem a little mean.
everything to like
This was located in a very good central location. Church and rivers and plenty of restuarants around. A very good spanish restuarant across the street called Boleros is highly recommended.
The church was very close and the bells were very loud, the rooms arent very sound proof.
The whole team at the hotel Weierich were professional, extremely polite, charming, helpful and very well organised. The hotel itself well situated for sightseeing and the like. We will return.
Central location, comfortable hotel, good buffet breakfast, homely ambiance.
Rather high rates for the standard, but it seems Bamberg is expensive. Room was quite small given the price.
Good hotel, great location
The fact that I didn't stay in this hotel! I was changed hotel and not even notified before - I was told upon arrival "Yeah, we don't have a room here, but don't worry, we'll give you one for another hotel nearby". That's not how you treat a client!
Close to main areas-15 min. walk. Nice buffet breakfast.
Changed hotels and did not send an e-mail. Became confusing.
Well, came to the confirmed Hotel Weirich which was closed and under renovation, however helpful people directed me to the alternatie property which strangely enough had not been communicated by Booking.com! So all well but would be good to arrive at the correct property expecially when you come late in the evening with a taxi!
Kind personal with attention to detail. They try to do as much as possible for guest to feel comfort.
