This 4-star-superior hotel in Schwangau offers great views of the Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, a modern spa and beauty area, and a gourmet restaurant serving regional food.

The Hotel Rübezahl has spacious, elegantly furnished rooms and suites with cable TV and wooden décor. Some have a private balcony or terrace.

Spa facilities at the Rübezahl include a steam room, tepidarium, a jacuzzi and Kneipp area. Guests can relax in the fireplace room with juice bar. Beauty treatments and massages can also be booked here.

The Rübezahl's restaurant serves light, regional meals during the day and fine gourmet cuisine in the evenings.

Trud Mature couple Chesterfield, United Kingdom October 7, 2011	The hotel is a quality hotel in the Schwangau area overlooking the Castle. The rooms are clean, a little small but well appointed. There is no air conditioning and noise from outside can sometimes be a problem if you have to have the windows open. Dinner is over priced for what there is but the breakfast is ok. The beds are hard so anyone with hip or back problems (or even painful shoulders) will find it uncomfortable sleeping. We had asked for a room overlooking the castle but none were available so we thought we would make do with looking at the castle over breakfast. However we were informed that all the tables in the restaurant were reserved for breakfast and we were pushed into a little room without any windows! Imagine how we felt. Excellent cuisine, although inevitably pork/ham/bacon plentiful so choice rather more restricted if you don't eat pork. . Menu in German and English. Staff all multilingual (English, Italian). Would have little hesitation in returning, and despite plentiful other restautrants outside just not worth the effort given the standard of the cuisine. Only thing that was totally insular was that with the occasioanl (10am = 6pm) exception of CNN, all TV channels were in German. You really would have thought they would have been less insular and had e.g. BBC, Sky Sports and even one or two other TV channels in English (as well as some Italian and French for other guests.
