The staff were very polite and friendly, our family room was big, clean and comfortable. The restaurant was good, if you like typical German food. It would have been nice to have a bath, but it was not such a big deal.

Very clean and comfortable rooms with balcony. Staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. Largest rooms during our 8 night stay in Germany. Beautiful breakfast rooms. Internet connection is terrible. Not enough bandwidth and desk manager even asked me not to use the internet if possible because "business travelers" needed it. If management knows the Internet service is not able to handle the number of guests, then management needs to upgrade the service rather than ask guests to not use it. I would NOT stay here again based on the poor (barely existent) Internet service but otherwise LOVED this hotel.

We stopped at hotel only for 1 night on our trip through Germany, but it was probably the best hotel we ever stayed. Location close to highway makes him to be more "motel" then hotel, what is shame as services are better then in other "city" hotels and staying there longer then 1 night would be pleasure. Big clean room with big bed and soft duvets. Room was warm and cosy. Breakfast had everything what we missed in other hotels - various choices of food (even Mozarella+tomatos plate!), vegetables, whole wheat bread, big glasses for morning juice, coffee/tea NOT from machine but individually brought from kitchen. Lady who served was very nice, going around asking if we need anything else. Hotel is managed by family and you can feel it. It is not like staying in hotel, but on family visit. It was the first hotel where I felt I got more than was the price.

Not much, its in the middle of no where and not easy to get to. The hotel was closed when i turned up at 4.30pm in the afternoon. The bar was not open only at specific times (6.30pm). On day one it closed at 10.00pm and on day two closed at 8.30pm. So only a cheap 14" colour portable in the room and only BBC news to watch it wasn't a pleasant trip. Then on my departure someone had to contact the part owner as they could not use the card machine. The only reason for going there was that this was the only hotel within what seemed a million mile away. Leasoned learnt, never again.

The Hotel Wender was a big surprise. You would expect a small traditional Gasthof in this small village. Instead, expect to be surprised, as you approach this huge hotel. Everything about it is surprising. The quality of the furnishings and finish are just excellent. The room was spacious and very comfortable. When we arrived there was no one there, but a pleasant young man rushed out of his house to greet us. For a hotel this size you might expect a receptionist, but for the price you pay you can't have everything. The young man, son-in-law of the owner, spoke excellent English and was a lively character. The breakfast was excellent. There is a written request for guests not to take the breakfast food for their lunches and at this price it would be mean of guests to take advantage of such good value. The evening meal and drink was good and at reasonable prices.

It was spotless, staff all polite, quiet, spacious, hassle-free, thoughtfully laid out room etc. It's not full of character, newly built or modernised but we didn't care. We had plenty of character in the castle Colmberg but the experience wasn't as good as the Wender. Price was great.

The staff was great with many helpful hints on where to go in the area for sightseeing. They accommodated our unscheduled early arrival with minimal difficulty. The rooms were spacious and clean and the bathroom was also very spacious and clean. The breakfast was very good with a good amount of selection for the whole family. Supper was offered as well but we did not sample as we were out sightseeing most of the day. The area is very nice and quiet. It was a bit out of the way. Difficult to find without a gps (our fault). Could use more signage on the main roads to direct to the hotel.

The receptionist was extremely jolly for a German and loved practising his English on us. Huge room great facilities and tiny price. It's fairly isolated so you eat at the hotel where the food is functional rather than gourmet . But the jolly German made it a memorable stay!

A family run, large modern hotel st in a small village at a crossroads for travellers East / West (Poland -France) North / South ( Britain / Austria / Italy). It was light, airy, well appointed with a godd basic German menu for the evening and a generous varied breakfast menu
