A 5-minute walk from Spittelmarkt subway Station, this modern hotel in Berlin’s Mitte district is between Alexanderplatz and Potsdamer Platz. It features a 24-hour bar and rooms with free Wi-Fi.
Score from 3450 reviews Very good
WiFi only functioned 40 percent of the time. Staff was unconcerned and unhelpful about it. They made no effort to fix it.
- small, but very comfortable and cosy rooms
- no WiFi in the room, only cable (sic!) though in most cases that's better not to have WiFi, as you can read a book or walk around the city!
Nice place and nice neighbourhood.
I thought the Internet connection was wifi but at the second floor there is only cable connection. But my mistake, it was not written wifi in the confirmation of the reservation.
Room pretty small and lacked storage but fortunately we didn't have much luggage. No wi-fi in room.
Location a few minutes from Gendarmarkt and Stadtmitte U-Bahn is great.
This hotel is typical boxy, rather sterile 4* of the type that has been popping up in Berlin over recent years. Rooms are basic, on the small side and my first room actually had the shower and sink in the bedroom, seperated by glass screen! As I was sharing a so-called Twin room with a colleague, totally unacceptable! I was moved to better room with a completely seperate bathroom but initial impressions were not good. I think this hotel is a 3* and occupies same space as the Ibis or Novatels of this world. Faceless, lacking any charm but gets the job done if nowhere else. It's not particularly good value and not really a place you want to spend to much time in apart from sleeping. I would not stay in a Winters Hotel again. I know there are 2 others in Berlin. Their only real asset is location. The rest of their attributes are below par in my opinion as I stay in many 4 and 5* hotels all over Europe.
location, desk staff sorted out Bus travel to potsdam during the DB strike. Worked perfectly.
room too warm even with aircon.
The hotel was close to many attractions and sites, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had nice water pressure (a welcome treat in a European Hotel).
It would have been nice to have wifi in the room.
- Central location close to subway station (Stadtmitte) - modern (interior, rooms, bath) - free cable internet and wifi - a small bar - airconditioning - quiet - apart from breakfast very affordable, a good deal
- Breakfast is too expensive (14 Euros) - very stiff pillows - not much space to work (just a tiny desk)
Nice staff. Reasonable price and great location nice hotel! Very quite room, even when the air con is on.
Room a bit small.
The location is superb a short walk from Gendarmenmarkt and Friedrichstraße. The staff is nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and new. The breakfast room is big and with a great view of Leipziger Straße (and of the Berlin Marathon!). Breakfast was great on Saturday.
The smallest room category (at least the room we got) was surprisingly small for a 4 star hotel, we barely had room for our suitcases. There was no separate bathroom (just a toilet) - the shower and the sink was in the room proper next to the bed! Sunday's breakfast was a bit disappointing (no fresh buns).
Very clean, good location and quiet.
Just a remark for all travelers- if you forget the "don't disturb" sign, the staff will try to enter every 15 min from 9:30 am on a Sunday morning. The shower cabin is a see through in the room so you may risk being seen. In my case they almost entered but heard the water running. I wonder why the hotel does not have a system showing the chambermaids that the room card is in the designated slot.
Needs another lift and only supplies breakfast - no other meals available.
Well designed, modern and clean hotel in a great location.
the open bath in the room is a bit annoying, and a wireless internet access not only in the restaurant, but also in the room would be preferable.
very good location
the front desk staff
Staff showing attitude towards Asian travellers.
excellent location, at the centre of town, everything is too close, museums, galleries, nightlife, restrains, U ban - metro stations, shopping street...
there is no wifi in the room, only cable
The room was nice and clean, and the personnel very friendly and helpful. Very nice stay.
There was a bit information shortage of what we had booked and paid for, but the issue was delt well. The beds were ok, but I would have expected a bit more from a confort room.
location.you can go u-bahn station, museums, the wall, and concert halls in 10 minutes. post office, super market and cafes around.room is clean and quiet.
no wi-fi in the room. only lobby and 1st floor. no bathtub. shower room made by clear glass. cannot invite friends.
Location is great, next to the most important sites and some metro stations.
Staff isn't very friendly and don't know much about the activities of the city.
Location Price Bathroom Staff
Location is perfect. It is close to all attractions. Staffs were helpful and polite.
The most important point was wifi. Actually no wifi is available at room and only you can use Internet in lobby. Size of the room was another problem, it was very small. Bathroom was inconvenient. The hotel has only one elevator and it's speed is also slow and have to wait for use it. Breakfast was poor and the price is 14 euro per person. In general this hotel seems to be 3 star not 4 star but location and value points of view it is suitable for passengers, however if I travel to Berlin again I prefer to pay more and choose the better one.
Nice hotel with a good location, walking distance to Potsdamer Platz and Brandenburger Tor. U2 and U6 stations just round the corner. Good food in restaurants close by.
Great location and very nice staff
Location was good for both nearby places as well as access to U-Bahn
Room was small, A/C didn't work (they offered to move rooms but we were together and wanted to stay side-by-side so more irritating than deal-breaking). Also room internet is wired only. If you don't have an Ethernet port, you have to go to the small lobby for Wi-Fi.
