Hotel Wittelsbach    

location is perfect for us. We like the classic German style of the hotel. Breakfasts had good variety. Nice view from our room.

Misleading info about room when booked online. It described our room as a 2-room "suite", but when we arrived at hotel, we got a 1-room suite

It was well located for trips to Salzburg and other historical areas.

The internet cost was expensive. The parking was limited and more expensive than was printed on the hotel description.

When we arrived we were put in a room with absolutely no view in a place which has fantastic scenery. When we complained the next morning, the manager said that we had booked a "cheap" room. What an insult! We said that we did not want a ":cheap" room. When he saw how angry we were at his remarks, he said that for 12 euros more we could have a room with a view. The second room was very nice. Needless to say we were not happy with the treatment we got initially.

Short walk to restaurants and a supermarket.

Seems very close to the train station on the map, but too difficult to walk there especially when carrying a luggage. Shower facility is too old.

The location is great - right in the middle of everything.

The staff was not that great to work with - gal who checked us in sent us to park in their only 4 spaces - she had already sent 7 other people so we had to park on the street. Ok though as weekends are free. It was the owner who checked us out - I needed help to make a phone call after I checked out. He refused to help at all. When I suggested that I would rate him poorly on your site, he sort of changed his tune. However, he wanted us to move back into the room so he could charge us for a simple call. My cell phone was out of minutes, we had to move on to another city . . . very frustrating . . . I would NEVER stay here again.

Big room

Stff not friendly enough, and only offered important information when asked, like visitor card with which we can take free transportation, they only gave it to us when we asked to. No WIFI at all! This is the worst thing! We bought hot spot access at high price, but not working well at all, disconnected frequently and very very weak and slow! The room was not cleaned when we checked in, we had to wait, but it was already 2:30pm!

Staff was great and friendly. Great location, short walk to a wonderful restaurant, The Hubertus restaurant

Old time charm

Putzfrau's started a bit early. 0700 and were a bit laoud

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. They let us leave our bags there early in the morning of our overnight stay. Nothing was a trouble to them. The staff spoke some English and we spoke some German and overall they were able to respond to our needs.

Good breakfast, good location, nice room, parking available at the hotel.

No free wi-fi available. The lighting is not very good (but friendly to the environment...)

Hans runs a friendly, welcoming hotel - I highly recommend and I will return for the 6th time!

Great location right in town, excellent views from our balcony, helpful staff, good breakfast!

The decor a little bit dated. The noise insulation between rooms wasn't great- you could hear the toilet flush next door, at 3am we were woken by the people in the room next to us yelling back and forth with someone in the street, it sounded so loud I checked to see if my windows were open and they werent. (other than when the people next door were causing a disturbance the street noise didn't bother us)

Lovely old style hotel...staff friendly and helpful. Basic amenities but that was fine for the style of hotel that it is. Great breakfast included.

Well located in the city, clean, staff friendly.

Parking was full, so I could not park my car, but staff indicated me places to go.

Great location around some very interesting places to see. Loved the great pool in town, nazi museum, salt mines, proximity to Salzburg.

Helpful and friendly staff. A hotel with a certain aged charm and excellent, comfortable and cosy rooms. Mine had a wonderful balcony facing the mountains, and that isn't the worst place to have your morning coffee. The cleaning staff must be this hotel's true heroes. German hotels are generally clean, but this was outstanding. Considering the age of the hotel it is a remarkable feat!

No fridge in the room. The hotel only has a few parking places directly by the hotel (and if you have an oversized car they are difficult to get at). So even if you have booked a parking space in advance, you may be referred to a parking garage about 500 meters away.

Courteous and friendly Hotel staff. The complimentary breakfast was good.

The rooms were very basic and not worthy of the price paid.

Always a pleasure to stay at this Hotel. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The breakfast is very good. A must stay if you are in the area.

The view's quite good

It would be quite difficult to find the hotel if you arrived very late. Nobody to ask and never could find the way to climb the hill up to the hotel.

We had a corner room with three large windows so during the day the room was full of light, and there were awesome views of mountains from every direction. We also appreciated the presence of an elevator and the hotel's suggestion of a restaurant. The only drawbax in a paeking garage.

There was not enough parking st the Hotel.

Rooms small, beds very uncomfortable, bathrooms small and outdated. expensive for what you get.

Nice polite and helpful staff. Great view from balcony. Great location-close to to everything.

No hot water available until hotel reception open at 7am.( not sure if this is a regular thing). Didn't realise how steep the walk would be from the train station, next time I would taxi it if carrying heavy luggage. ( it would only be a 5 min walk without suitcases).

I can't say enough about how nice the staff here is! Very welcoming and helpful with info on things to do and places to eat in the area. The rooms are very clean, plenty of hot water and a good size. They also have a very nice complimentary breakfast. We had a large unit with a balconey overlooking the mountains, and the view was fantastic! Floor to ceiling windows so you can imagine how nice that was! We brought in the little balconey table and 2 chairs, would pick up take away for dinner, and look out over the mountains and town while we ate. So nice! We would definitely stay here again.

Internet 8 € per day, year 2012. Very bad. Nest time not stay at the hotel if we pay for internet Conny
