Location is the only thing this hotel has going for it.

This was our second visit - 10 years apart, but the hotel has not been updated at all during that time. Our room was tired, old, old, old - everything. It was certainly overpriced for the stark, old, dusty and drab appearance of the entire hotel - reception, hallways and elevator. The staff was inattentive. We waited for 10 minutes to check out as the person at the Reception desk was interrupted by a phone call - then proceeded to read brochures to the person on the phone while we stood there and waited - never even apologized. We will not be back.

Efficient staff, value for money, central location.

I had to repair the fan in the room myself. Service was sometimes very slow and ad-hoc

We were traveling with our one year old daughter and we requested a baby bed. Surprisingly, the baby bed didn't have any mattress; there was just a hard board. When we asked for the mattress at the reception, we only got evasive answers. Definitely, this hotel is not baby-friendly.

    Pleasant staff. Great location .

We were told that the breakfast was included then found an additional charge when we checked out! The WiFi worked poorly! TV needs updating!

    Location was great.

Difficult to find, especially with car arriving on a busy Saturday.

Very good location in the most central part of Heidelberg. Staff were friendly

Clean, but trading off its location and history. 'Old Hollywood' as a local put it. The astonishing thing was to be charged 2.50 euros an hour for wi-fi access on a room of 150 euros a night .... How many people need to complain before the hotel realises that nowadays this is a basic facility

    Great location.

The hotel has no air conditioning and in the hot weather the rooms become unbearably hot. Hardly any sleep for three nights. Also, hotel is badly in need of refurbishing. Looks great from outside but tired looking inside which is a great shame. Finally my single (superior) room was tiny.

The historical feel and location are amazing.

Needs AC, regular king beds (no double twin beds) and a full shower stall.

Location is bang right in the middle of old Heidelberg "the best bits" Room at the back was mega quiet.

The bloomin' church Bells, every 15 mins and then the hour bing bong. They are about 3 feet away from your rooms.

It is the coolest hotel to stay in when in Heidelberg.the hotel is over 400 years old. People stop to take pictures of the hotel. Yes it is very expensive but it's worth it. Nothing is cheap in Germany anyway.

    Leaving.

    Close to the theater

It is not a four star hotel: no airco, no safe, old fashioned analog tv-set, no desk, just two old chairs, tiny bathroom with narrow shower, very noisy (every 15 minutes churchbells), no elevator to our roomlevel, pieces of broken glass on the floor close to the bed. I guess the staff knows, because we were not asked about our satisfaction during our stay!

Great location, in front of the main church on the main pedestrian street. Since we were going with little children in two rooms, Staff offered to adjancent rooms, almost as apartment, and one upgraded for free.

Beautiful antique hotel with spacious, comfortable, well-equipped rooms. Pleasant, helpful service. Food from the hotel's kitchen smelled delicious from our room. We got an excellent deal for the night (99 Euro) and the location was most convenient, so that makes up for the aspects we did not like.

We could not find a remote control for the TV. We could have also used more towels in the room. After midnight, the church bells sounded outside our window on the hour, half hour and quarter hour all through the night, which kept waking us up throughout the night. Unfortunately my partner was unable to get any sleep.

The staff was AMAZING! Extremely helpful and accommodating. The gentleman with glasses (I can't remember his name, it may have been Martin or Marvin?) was so friendly to us. He got us a great room at a great price, walked us up to it, and told us about all of the fun things going on in Heidelberg that night. He even got out a map and circled where to go on it. He is very nice, and made our stay very pleasant. The location is absolutely perfect, and the hotel itself is gorgeous.

Nothing, we enjoyed everything. I thought breakfast was a bit expensive so we did not have it, but maybe it is a great breakfast that is worth the price!
