It is really hard to travel with a baby and Michael, the owner of this quaint guesthouse situated in one of Schiltach's cutest areas, made sure that we feel at home. He even served us dinner in our room to help us out when the baby threw a fit. The appartment that we booked was absolutely perfect and a great value for money. The breakfast was abundant and really really yummy, but what made our day was Michael's smile, good manners and kindness. It is rare to see an owner of a guesthouse care so much!

The hotel was in a beautiful setting and even though the weather was not good Michael, who ran the hotel, made our stay a very happy one. The food he prepared for us was delicious and nothing we asked for was too much trouble. I will definitely return.

Michael was a warm and welcoming host! The food was delicious and the breakfast was wonderful. The location was great --- in the heart of Schiltach right on the river. The beds were wonderful. We would love to go back! Schiltach is a beautiful little town but not much is open in the evening.

Michael was the most welcoming host I've ever met, and he did everything to make us feel at home. The food was good, the room comfortable and clean, and the location is very pretty in the Black Forest.

A fantastic hotel/guesthouse, it was perfect in every way - a clean and spacious room with a view, great location overlooking the river, very welcoming and friendly owner, excellent breakfast and good food in the restaurant. There was nothing not to like.

Great place to be in. Michael Mogler, the owner, is an excellent host. We were the only clients staying at the hotel during the time but we didn't face any difficulty because of that. The location is superb. It has an old rustic charm about the place that should attract "Travellers".

From the very moment we arrived, Michael was the perfect host.We had journeyed without breakfast, but that was no trouble, not even at midday. It was the start of what was to come. The hotel is wonderful and its location just ideal being on the waters edge.It was a bank holiday and at the very end of the season, so not much entertainment - - but you don't go to Schiltach for that. The peace and tranquility of the Kinzig valley in the Black Forest is 'the' supreme short break from the rat race.., and Michael played his part in ensuring all went well. The hotel - -superb, The food - -very tasty, The service - - could not be faulted. Of the four museums, Hansgrohe should not be missed, but the others are also worth a visit. We strongly recommend our visit to this town and hotel,You cannot be disappointed if 'get away for a break' is your reason for going. If we have to find fault and that is hard to do, but maybe the room was a little cold on our arrival. Soon sorted out with no fuss at all.

We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Our rooms (we had a double and a triple) were clean and comfortable. The triple was very large and easily could accommodate a fourth person on an extra cot. The restaurant was very good - we ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast there. The breakfast buffet was the usual continental fare, but it was fresh and plentiful, and the owner also offered to make scrambled eggs and bacon. The town of Schiltach was lovely and was an easy 30-minute drive to Triberg. Even the Wifi was good. We definitely would stay here again. We have no complaints at all.

The Location-beautifully situated on a quiet, tiny street on the riverbank in a quaint village in the Black Forest. The Hotel style- charming 14th century. The friendliness of the owner and staff. The well furnished large family suite with comfortable bed, kitchen unit..and even toys for the kids! The generous breakfast buffet. The gorgeous hot chocolat served with biscuits! Under an hour from Europa Park.

We received the warmest hospitality from Michael during our two nights at Schiltach. Not only did Michael arrange us a cozy room, which by the way has gorgeous river side view with mountains on the back drop, also was he very helpful in advising us a pleasant day hike into the black forest. We booked dinner here for both nights, because dinner on the first night was very delicious, and we wanted to try out other courses on the menu.

Quiet, free of tourists and tourist trappings, beautiful little town with colorful and interesting, old buildings, slow- paced - great for a relaxing vacation Our host, Michael, was extremely warm and welcoming and did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. It gave you the feeling that you were a guest in his home - not just another tourist. Nothing worth mentioning.

Michael was a very nice host and the B&B was lovely. Some other guest's child was playing with the phones and randomly callin rooms late at night and early the next morning. Not the B&B's fault, but it kept us from getting a good night's rest. Isolated incident I'm sure.

Our family of four stayed two nights in the apartment offered. It was large, comfortable, and well-appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals in the breakfast room and suppers in the beer garden along the creekside. Beautiful scenery on all sides. The host, Michael, is an incredibly gracious fellow and was very informative in helping us choose activities in the area. Highly recommend.

The guesthouse was in a fantastic little village called Schiltach, which is in a great part of the black forest. The room was very comfortable and looked out over the river and town. The owner was very welcoming, the food was good. Overall a very pleasant stay. No tea and coffe facilities in the room.

The location is perfect, right in the middle of the picturesque town of Schiltach. Michael, the proprietor, is very kind and will make sure that everything is taken care of. He also cooks at the restaurant at the hotel, and his food is very, very good. We traveled with a 2 year old, and she loved the location as it was right next to the river and she could run on the lawn next to the river and feed the ducks! Also, there is parking available for free. Great, great stay!

This stay was the highlight of our 3 week trip through four European countries. Michael was the ultimate host and chef. Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and full of little extras to make our stay more comfortable and easy, such as a plug adapter, mini frig, coffee maker, toiletries, etc. Michael is a gourmet chef, and we happily decided to have all of our dinners at the hotel. The food was varied and outstanding- fresh and creative twists to local cuisine. He staff was wonderful and accommodating- when we asked for special food items (ie, more chocolate!), every response was, "sure, why not?". Michael made us feel especially welcome, and we will recommend this hotel to all family and friends. Nothing except that we wish we could have stayed longer!
