Breakfast doesn't start till 8 so no food for early risers. The room was as cold as could be on arrival and took several hours to become livable. Toilet down the hall is so old fashioned...really?
Our view was beautiful. We were close to everything and parking was easy. I really loved hearing the cowbells in the background. Our hostess was wonderful and gave great advice on where to eat and spend the night.
Nothing. This is a wonderful place to stay with an exceptional hostess.
Extremely clean, our room was amazing and had terrific views from the balcony. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Good Breakfast and nice staff. Amazing view.
Wifi didnt pick up
Breakfast, bed, view of mountains.
Bathroom (1 tiny soap bar; dangerously elevated & slippery tub; all mounted makeup/shaving mirror good only if 6 feet plus tall). No seating in main room (TV mounted behind sleep sofa, table has unpadded benches). Chair in Bedroom hard as a rock. Location up steep poorly maintained road. Lighting (many burned out bulbs)
We love The view and the ease of getting around Partenkirchen. The breakfast is lovely and the bed was very comfortable.
We would have liked a better shower facility. The water pressure was so strong that the hose went everywhere and sprayed the whole bathroom and the shower door was not strong enough to stay closed.
The view from our balcony was truly spectacular - looking right at the Alpinspitze. Our room was clean and comfortable - loved the heated towel racks. Breakfast was very fresh and the staff were lovely and accommodated our poor German with grace. An excellent value for money.
It was a little tricky gaining entry to the hotel as the door was locked even though it was mid-afternoon and staff were quite slow to respond to the bell. It's very helpful to familiarize yourself with the route to the hotel!
Very expensive in relation to other options in Garmisch-Partenkirchen site (gapa.de)
Tiny little hotel with a magnificent view from our veranda and a great breakfast. Room was spacious and clean. Owner was very pleasant and accommodating.
24 hour service not available.
Very impressive rooms, comfortable beds, designed rooms, good breakfast.
Was impossible to close the curtains, we woke up quite early because of the light. WiFi didn't work at most.
Both the staff and the facilities were very good. The breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed a balcony with a great view over the town in the mornings.
It is a little bit out of the way and the lack of free wifi
Have toured all over Europe by motorcycle. This is one of best value for money hotels have stayed at. Our room was great, with quality furnishings. Only windows were sky lights, but did not bother us and was nice to lay in bed and look at the stars! Breakfast was fab with great views over Alps.
No secure parking for motorcycles. Had to park on rough ground and gravel opposite hotel, which they use as car park. Steep walk back to hotel from local town, if your not physically fit.
Who said the German's have no sense of humour .... deck chairs on the chimney stack a witz( joke) on the hotel name! This was our second visit and found we had been upgraded to a small holiday flat for our three day stay. There is a good breakfast buffet with the breakfast room having good views over the Ski Jumps and the Zug Spitz. Would use this hotel again if down that way.
The only draw back is that the hotel is at the top of a bumpy road but even this is well worth it for the views.
Poor internet, when it did work.
Scenic view. Breakfast had good selections with beautiful views. Close to Olympic ski stadium and partnach-gorge.
Wi-fi unusable except a few feet from front door/check-in.
Views from the hill the hotel is on are great on a clear day. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our "balcony" room was on the ground and had no balcony. It's view was obstructed by a giant hedge. Our yard was how other guests access their rooms, not private at all. The neighbors were very noisy and offensive but were not addressed. The old restaurant with terrace is comfortable and has amazing views, but use is limited to breakfast only, which is silly. Would have been a perfect place to play cards with friends on the rainy days, the rooms are not suited to that.
Breakfast was great, great location
Shared bathroom, poor internet connection
The location high up above the valley with vista of the Wetterstein mountains. The breakfast room and the already renovated part of the building. The very helpful staff.
The not yet renovated part of the building with rooms slightly reminiscent of a 'sanatorium'.
I feel the owner went above and beyond to accommodate us, she was great. I liked being away from the city and enjoying the incredible view. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Breakfast had a server to make eggs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this property.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. Amazing view from most rooms and the breakfast room with lovely terrace. Nice varied breakfast in the morning. The road to the hotel has a 14% incline, so a car is recommended. It is only about a 15 minute walk into the town, but when you have been hiking all day, you do not want to have to walk back up to the hotel at the end of the day.
Not clean, old, noise from the street
The hotel is very clean and up to date. A nice walk to the centre of the town and the staff will help you with a map and suggestions. Wi-Fi didn't work, other guests also complained. Staff made efforts to get it up and running again.
We did have a room with a skylight so we couldn't see the "schonen aussicht". I think they should tell you when you book this room because it isn't very fair. The bed was stone hard. But maybe I'm just used to softer beds.
Excellent choice of breakfast including cereals, various breads and cakes, ham, cheese, salmon, yoghurts, etc. with beautiful views from the dining room. Newly appointed shower room. Large quad room with balcony and views over the Olympic ski jump and town.
It wasn't clear that to check in you needed to ring the door bell even though the front door was open. However, once this was pointed out by another guest we were met immediately. Other guests arriving after us made the same mistake too.
Tidy, good breakfast, views from upper rooms. Nice outside chill area.
Bumpy road leading up to it! Not hotels fault!
