Vintage hotel, classy design but not uncomfortable. Great breakfast, good value for the money nice, quiet very attentive staff. Beds are very comfortable. Although at the busy street very quiet even more so if your room is facing court. Walking distance to main railway station and main shopping street on the other side of hotel. In addition, main museums are practically across the street. For 2 or 3 days stay (more than enough for Copenhagen) this is the place you want tobe. Beware of pin numbers!!!!!!!!!! This info is of crucial importance! Unless you don't have your credit card pin number!? Your credit card is useless in Denmark. So, from buying train ticket (you have to use your cc or coins) to your hotel bill you must present cc pin number, otherwise can't use it. Besides, hotel charges extra %7.25 if you use amex and %4.23 for visa-master!!! How many of us travelers know all their cc pin numbers I wonder?! Also, one problem is shower in this hotel, not enough hot water and weak shower pressure.. Too bad for such exquisite hotel.

Nice, cosy hotel with very friendly staff. Good location for city trip and shopping. Also very near the Central station, which is good when you arrive and leave Copenhagen. I also liked that the bathroom had a bathtub. The room had windows facing a main road. We heard the taffic, and especially sirenes from emergency vehicles, quite well at night. Wouldn't recommend it if you're a light sleeper. The room was also quite small. In the breakfast room, non of the salt shakers I tried had salt in them.

The very friendly and helpful reception staff are the best. Did everything to help me if I had a problem. I like that the single rooms are placed towards the back off the hotel, so there is no traffic noise. Good, when you are a light sleeper like me. I like the style of the hotel, maybe it's like in my childhood!! And the reception area is great to meet friends and sit down for a glass of wine. The hotel is close to everything in Copenhagen, trains, buses, Stroeget, Tivoli etc. I was not impressed by the restaurant. The breakfast is fine, if you don't eat the bacon, sausages, and scrambled eggs. All those three were very dry and the bacon was really difficult to chew. Tried the boiled eggs twice and the whites were running. The service in there were not too bad. I had a few problems understanding dome of the staff. The lunch and dinner menu was a bit boring, if you are not a favorite of Thai food. They could have a few danish courses on the menu. Think people coming as tourists would like to taste something danish. And why not do that in the hotel where you are staying. Dinner with a glass of wine or two, and then you are close to your room. No need for taxi etc.

The receptionist are friendly and helpful, and the room are fantastic. The location is also very good, and it's allows convenient access to the major shopping areas. The wifi Internet access signal (if any!) in the rooms are too weak. Should upgrade with more access points with better signals

Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free coffee and fruit at the lobby. Our room was tiny: there is not enough space for two people with two suitcases.

The location, and some of the staff were ok. The staff were mostly dreadful, rude and incompetent, messed up the booking, and their response was to shrug. The room was small, shabby, scuffed up and dark, with powerpoints and lamps not working. The shower was abysmally tiny with mould marks all through the grout, plumbing was a mystery and I got scalded in the shower. The toilet blocked and nearly overflowed when I flushed. The shower curtain rail fell right off. The bathroom smelled bad. There was no room service, no fridge. The breakfast was poor value for money and poor quality. The worst ever experience for a business trip. The security was questionable as I was handed the wrong room key more than once.

The location was great for exploring the city, close to Tivoli and walking distance from almost anywhere we wanted to go. Having bikes available for hire at the hotel was also very convenient. The design aspect of the hotel and its furnishings was also very cool.

We found the Hotel Alexandra to be excellent in every way. The staff were welcoming and friendly, helpful in giving us guidance in Copenhagen, and making sure we had a secure parking place for our car during our stay. We particularly liked the eco-friendly nature of the Hotel, and the breakfasts were first-class. The Hotel is also well-placed for sightseeing.

Room was clean, very central. Room very noise with the road traffic. We could not leave the window open, although it was warm because we wouldn't be able to sleep without the double glazing.

Very nice furniture. This hotel is like a museum of danish arts and design of the 20th century : it is beautiful and interesting. The room was very small. There was not even a place to put the luggage. The worse was the bathroom : the smallest I have ever seen in a hotel ! The shower was also very uncomfotable because of the water's temperature changing all the time.

Enjoyed this charming hotel very much. We've got upgraded to a spacious Classic Danish Design Room, because the original room wasn't available at arrival. The staff was always helpful, friendly and personal. The bed was comfortable and quite big, the design furniture just lovely. Nice we also got complementary late checkout. Would definitely stay here again! The wifi signal could have been stronger, but there's also free wired internet in the room.

Very convenient location, can walk to everything in central Copenhagen. Hotel was very quiet considering the busy area. Comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms with superb towels and bath products. Terrific breakfast buffet (make sure you get it included in room rate) fueled us well for a day's exploring, and a fleet of hotel bikes (about $20 for a full day) made it fun to explore. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, talk to the manager for superb restaurant/sightseeing recommendations. Really appreciated the free and easy Internet access too! Like most of the Danish hotels we saw, the facilities here are a bit dated (like traveling in '80s Europe, but with updated creature comforts). Other countries are on the cutting edge style-wise, but less so here, at every price point! Despite the fab vintage furniture of the "design room," it still felt somewhat dowdy, and the bathroom needed a remodel. Denmark is a ridiculously expensive country, and the hotel's web rates were out of our budget, but we got a terrific package deal (incl. Breakfast, museum tix) using Booking.com for the first time ever. Otherwise, this is a very nice boutique/historic/city hotel.

I chose the hotel because of its reputation for retro and classic design furniture, much of which I have in my home in Australia. Also its central location made it very simple to explore Copenhagen. Tea making facilities were welcome. Reception always polite and helpful. The lack of a place to put my case other than on the arm chair was an inconvenience. I asked for and sometimes received, but not daily, a bathmat and a cup or mug for drinking tea as the glass provided was too hot to hold- small things but irritating.
