Hotel Astoria has a great location in Copenhagen in that it is adjacent to the main railway station. It is also a rather interesting hotel and the owners should provide some information on its history.

A typical Euro hotel. A bit pricey for what you get, but Copenhagen is expensive. If you can't deal with train noise, ask for the back side of the hotel. Many hotels in the area, this is convenient to the train station.

This is the worst 3 Star Hotel, I have stayed in the past 40 years. A price of Euro 160.00 for this place is unacceptable, the outside of the Hotel a shame for the City of Copenhagen. Could not get into bed on the side (no space) Renovation in my view is not possible, break the place down, only solution. Breakfast with plastic knifes and forks, unbelievable!

For Copenhagen this was a relatively cheap hotel . (It was still about £100 per room a night). It was built in the 1930's and still has many of it is original features. Once we changed room (see below) it was stayable. The good points are (i) its central location (right next the the main station main entrance & Tivoli Gardens) and also a belief that, if some money was spent on the hotel, it could be quite nice. This is a bizarre, somewhat quirky and run-down hotel. In the end our stay wasn't too bad as we managed to change room. Though it was supposed to be 'superior' - we exepcetd it to be 'small' but the first room we wre given a cupboard, very basic with paint coming off the walls. On arrival there was confusion over our prepaid payment. As we knew we had already paid it meant a call to the UK to provide proof the the girl on reception - once I had the proof she then explained that they have just changed ownership and lost all their payment records! Breakfast was on plastic plates and plastic cutlery! Whilst we were there the hotel put up a sign in recpetion saying that there was ecoli scare in the City and that we should not use the tap water for drinking. We asked if they could provide bottled water and they said 'no'. The hotel web-site was quite deceiving - with things that the hotel did not have available (web connection was not working and strangely, even a non-existent swimming pool advertised!) but I hope that will have now have been changed by the new ownership. Be prepared for the rumbling of trains which cause the walls to vibrate!

The excellent location of the hotel. Very close to the major attractions of Copenhagen (Tivoli, City Hall, Strøget, Nyhavn, City Lakes), And most important - side by side to the Main Railway Station making it very easy to get around Copenhagen by S-train, to travel by train to the Danish (and Swedish!) countryside as well as the rest of Europe. The bathroom was very small. It would be more comfortable if it had either a bigger bath or no bath at all, but simply a shower cabin.

Excellent location, nice staff. Ok room & facilities. Breakfast was poor, possibly due to the change in the ownership of the hotel.

Its location. a) Uncomfortable conditions (i.e. not good ventilation system and no air condition even though it was hot during the summer nights). b) dirty room (housekeeping cleaning good, yet, dirty/smelly pillows). c) Very noicy (windows do not block noice from street). Do not be decieved by the 'ok' pictures. Highly NOT RECOMMENDED unless you have extremely low expectations!

The location is convenient. It is just next to the central station. This hotel is very dirty. We found different kind of hair on the bedsheet. It is very noisy too. The breakfast is not good (no choice and quiet dirty. ) There are some insects flying on the bread. I won't choose this hotel again. I won't recommend others to choose this hotel.

The kindness of their staff, specially at the front desk although arriving late and with a credit card blocked for unexplained reasons. The lady at the reception was extremely helpful and kind. The best during all my scandinavian "tour".

I'd booked 3 rooms 1 for 4 night nad 2 for 3 nights. When 1st group came you had asked for credit card and registered all rooms to it. When group 2 arrived you just gave the roomkeys. When we checked out we would have liked to use my credit card for the payment but it was not possible because you cash management system. How is it possible!!!

I am disappointed because of dirty old carpets in the hotel. Even the carpet at the front was dirty and stained ,so are the carpets in the corridoors. The front desk personel are courteous and helpful . The location is excellent because of its proximity to train station. But the hotel needs major renovation .

I like the location very much. Nice hotel and breakfast room. The corridors should be renvoated, and some of the chairs cleaned. Beyond that everything is very ok.

The breakfast was fantastic - and the location was overlooking the train station. Generally poorly informed staff, small and dingy rooms with stained carpetting - and expensive for the quality of the "design" hotel.

The hotel is very old and rustic. It is centrally located in town. The breakfast was genuine Scandinavian and very tasteful. The room was just right for two people. The only drawback was the shower-tub combination. The tub was small and slopped up at the rear .. this is not unusual in Europe. However, the slop (where one may sit) was too small for the average person. One had to be careful while standing to take a shower or one possibly could fall. Would I stay there again? The answer is yes.

Inner city location Standard rooms very small, bath very dangerous as sloping in the middle. Upgraded for an extra 200 kroner per night to a larger room. Noise from the train station and traffic so had to keep window closed and it was still disturbing. Hotel described as having mini bar but this was a dispensing machine in the lobby. Definately not 3 star.

Good breakfast buffet. Good trabsport links as the hotel is next to Central Station. The rooms were very small and had only basic facilities (no hairdryer or kettle). The rooms had very poor sound insulation. We had very little sleep because of the noise from the traffic and the street outside the hotel. The window blind was broken in one of our rooms (it was rolled up in a corner of the room). We had to ask several times for this to be fixed, so for the first night had no window blind and no privacy from the street outside.
