This is one of the nicest hotel I have stayed in and I have stayed in quite a few. Comfort without the sameness and soulessness of other 4 and 5 star establishments. The staff were very friendly and really wanted to ensure their guests enjoyed their time there. The decor, ambience and feel of the hotel was first class. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Copenhagen in the future. Location was just off quite a seedy area close to the railway station. Lots of propositioning on the street which may put some people off but then nice to excape to the haven provided by the hotel.

Location very close to city square. Different, in a very positive way, to sterile hotel chains. Eco/green approach Despite a couple of negative coments I would certainly stay here again. Noise from the street starting at 4am. Street facing rooms get very hot.

The staff was very friendly, happy and helpful. An energy saving hotel with bike rentals. Quaint with a small bar & lounge to have a drink in the evening. Good location. Hard to sleep at night on the street side. Lots of noisey people late at night. But very entertaining!

I tried out the face and body lotion recommended from the hotel in the room in Copenhagen, and my face got really skin burned within a few seconds after I put it on. I had put it on my body earlier, and it was ok, Usually I am not allergic to anything, and I usually do not use "face and body cream" in my face at all. But due to the lack of facial cream in my suitcase I decided to try it out. After all it was marked "face and body loation", so I trusted the instructions. My face got really red and I felt sick. I was going to a wedding five hours later, and fortunately I found an allergic pill, an was able to heal after some hours. But I felt sick the rest of the day. The staff told me they had never experienced this before, and that it was probably nothing to do about it, but getting an allergic pill. The receptionist gave me som yogurt to put on to heal. The staff was helpful to some extend, but when a guest get sick, trying out the recommended hotel products I had expected a discount for my stay. We payed approx 2600 dkk for our on night in Axel hotel Guldsmeden, included breakfast and a tapas dinner. I think that`s expensive for a wedding day that almost got spoiled.

Location is very close to rail station Walls were so thin we could hear a violent argument between a couple in the next room. Breakfast was very expensive.

The bed was comfortable. The room was small but comfortable. Pretty quiet for an older building. The staff was helpful. The bathroom was good. The organic soaps and shampoos were nice. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was a treat. Big televisions. Not enough storage space for clothes or toiletries.

Very nice hotel, comfortable and quirky, not corporate. Rugs and art work give a homely feel. Great location near station. We had larger room, 413, with large bathroom. Mini-bar in room. Good choice. Only negative comment is there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room - but available free from dining room all day.

Quirky, unusual, great location in the centre of the action-it's behind a train station in a major town so it's a little edgy but not threatening. Great but chaotic breakfast, local beers and the friendliest staff ever Nothing

The location was simply great (if you don't mind it being in the red-light district). safe and close to the main shopping street and central train station. There were many good restaurants nearby, and it is also a stone's throw from Tivoli Gardens. The hotel was very clean, very comfortable, and staff was so friendly and nice. The owner herself brought me to view the spa (which I regretted to not have the time to use). Love the organic breakfast and all the lovely smelling toiletries! The hotel was also very kind to hold our bags after we checked out. Use of the steam bath and sauna would require an extra 295DKK per person per stay. As the accomodation was on the pricey side, if use of facilities could be complimentary, it would be great.

Very nice rooms, lovely spa. Friendly staff. Perfect location! Was a bit noisy in the mornings. We could hear a lot of the stuff going on in the hotel; cleaners, people running/walking in the hallways, woke us up on some occasions. Probably due to old building/lack of noise isolation.

The room was beautiful and very comfortable. I loved all the environmentally friendly products. We also enjoyed the breakfast, plenty of choice. We came with 2 small children this time but would definitely return alone! And the staff were also friendly and helpful, bringing up a cot for the baby at 8.30pm! Thanks The front door was a bit difficult to get through with a buggy. Also thought not very accessible for wheelchair users.

The hotel is centrally located, with a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff were attentive and always willing to help. Our room was cosy and stylish, and the eco friendly ethos is great. We loved the basket of organic apples in the foyer too!

Very clean, comfortable room. Excellent shower room although slightly cramped. Nice lounge area with complimentary tea/coffee facilities. Would definitely stay here again. No problem with noise unlike other reviewer. Excellent location close to railway station. Area quite 'colourful' by British standards, which we found interesting, but families with young children might have to deal with some difficult questions!! Breakfast a bit expensive, but to be fair probably not out of proportion for Copenhagen, which is quite an expensive city generally

Great value for money compared to other hotels I saw. Came in on a business trip and needed to be near the central station, so great option for that and close to everything you could want to see. Didn't take advantage of the spa, but looks good and great place for couples. Breakfast on the expensive side, but very good selection and worth it if you want to start with a good meal.
