Best Western Mercur Hotel  

There was flooding damage prior to our stay and the staff was good enough to accommodate all their guests with breakfast at a nearby hotel. I was also able to change rooms when I found I would be facing a very busy street. They also used breakfast vouchers which I found was a nice touch to deter non-guests as theft was a concern. Also very short walking distance to the Central train station.

It was basic, no frills. The housekeeping could have been better because we never got tissues or hygiene trash bags replaced during our 5 day stay and the coverlet of the bed could have been cleaned better, but these are minor complaints and this is a 3-star hotel so it was not unexpected. Also loud young travelers in the next room are not the fault of the hotel, but it didn't add to the enjoyment.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced, considering location.

This hotel is reasonably well located, being a short walk from the main railway station and close to the main shopping streets.

The rooms are stuffy, with little or no ventilation. The window can be opened but this comes at the expense of excessive noise due to the fact that the hotel is located on a busy road and opposite a very noisy train line. Would not recommend if you want a good night's sleep.

Location is fine. Fairly comfortable.

Ventilation in the rooms is very poor, since there is no air conditioning and the windows open just a little, so in the morning of a sunny day the room gets hot. The bathroom would be fine if not for the shower place, whose floor has no separation from the rest of the bathroom. It is very annoyng to dry the floor with towels every time you take a shower. Not compatible with a 3 stars hotel!! Never saw this in a 3 star!

The location was great and the beds really comfortable. We were at the front and didn't hear the trains, but I imagine in the summer these maybe quite loud

It was difficult to sleep due to train noisy during the night. Heating system did not work properly.

The hotel and the room is really good and comfortable. The location is nice, close to the central station.

Although the breakfast is good, it is not free.

The location and proximity to other key places in the city

Free Internet access and facilities for cofee and thea in the room.

Wrong actions of the personnel in both places: in reception and for the room. E.g.: I ask to be change my soap bottle twice, finally third time was happened. I left the hotel very early in the morning. I ask the evening before something for next morning (couple of sandwiches). Answer: during last morning have to make the announcement, but nobody inform accordingly guests about that. So they took my money for last breakfast but no service!
