Clarion Collection Hotel NeptunSankt Annae Plads 14-20, 1250 Copenhagen (Show map) Good, Score from 806 reviews“We liked the location near Nyhaven (sp?) with easy access to sightseeing buses and boats. This hotel is exceptional. It is an unbeatable value with exceptional service in all areas. They offer a generous, fresh breakfast buffet, afternoon cake, and large evening buffet all incuded in the reasonable price. With "free" meals one would expect poor quality, wait service and poor selection, not here! Everything was top notch, even the ambiance. In three days time we encountered a dozen hotel staff, all were very helpful and courtious. Perfect location for tourists and business. Clean, organic, generous, intelligent, amazing. We are used to 4 star service and our travel companion has lived 30 years in hotels all over the world, even he was impressed. The hotel is small, the room was a little smaller but the service was very very big. For 20 years we have stayed at the Admiral in Copenhagen, this time they were full. We have found a new love, the Neptune! The only thing was that parking in Copenhagen city center is 60 American a day. So take a cab, a train or a plane but not a car.

Great location in the very heart of the city, very good and substantial breakfast, free coffee / tea with a muffin in the afternoon, a good choice of snacks from 6 to 9 P.M. (including hot minced meat and flat chops) I did not like the room overlooking the inner yard - there was no fresh air and it was always stuffy and hot. The courtyard is covered with a glass roof making it impossible for the fresh air to circulate. Moreover the enclosed court is generally used as a recreation area for the hotel residents and visitors to the bar, so it turned to be so noisy on Saturday night that my husband eventually ended up by contacting the reception and asking to calm down the loud folks.

The hotel is close to many beautiful landmarks (I.E. Kastellet, Nyhavn, etc.) and is readily stocked with rental bikes (at a fee) for an even easier way of site-seeing the city. One never had to worry about food as breakfast, tea and dinner were all included in our stay. There was no way of keeping the bathroom floor dry while showering and having a floor mat would've helped.

Morning and evening light buffets included in rate; they were decent but nothing special - eating three nights there in a row would be stretching the budget too much. Elevators seemed fast to respond. Location is good near Nyhavn. Staff were generally very helpful. This is not a 4-star hotel even by the generous European standards. While the bed linens were fine, the toilet had a lingering sewage smell (we were in two different rooms at bookend stays and it was the same for both) and there was some mildew growth in one of them. Only interior rooms had air conditioning but exterior rooms had windows that could open a lot which helped greatly at night but is terrible if you just arrived in the morning/afternoon and wanted to sleep in cool comfort in the summer afternoon.

beautiful hotel in the heart of Copenhagen. The staff were all very polite and helpful and the food was amazing and plenty of it. The idea of having free tea and coffee all day was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at the Hotel Neptun. The location is excellent. I was working at the University and able to cycle there using one of the hotel's bikes for hire. My wife was centrally placed for exploring the city on foot, or by bus or metro. Alternatively she could read a book on the roof terrace or relax in the communal areas. Having tea and coffee available all day is always appreciated. In the evenings, we would walk around the castle ramparts, or along the harbour, or go to one of the nearby canal cafes for a drink. The hotel, with its half board, felt like a home away from home. The restaurant staff were excellent, constantly replenishing the breakfast and dinner buffet in an unobtrusive, friendly manner. Many are not Danish born, but they certainly did Denmark proud. After a long day's work, I found it most relaxing to be able to have dinner 'at home' instead of searching out a restaurant - although there are plenty nearby for those who want to go out. We recommend the Hotel Neptun without hesitation to people of all ages for its convenience, friendliness and facilities.

The Clarion offers very good value in a great location close to Nyhavn and Stroget. A buffet breakfast and a light supper is included in the price of some rooms. Our double room was spacious compared to others we have stayed in Europe with all important air conditioning. This was our 4th stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel for its location and value for money in a very expensive city.

Central location, many of the principal places of interest to us are within walking distance. Our room was at the front of the hotel so the deliveries and rubbish collections woke us each night, especially Sunday into Monday. The hotel overall was good, bedroom roomy and bathroom excellent. We would stay there again and recommend it to friends. The evening buffet was much appreciated as was the extensive breakfast. Noise in the night, as explained above.

Especially nice staff who really wanted to assist and meet your needs and good athmosphere. Very good breakfast. Also unusual to be able to have a light supper. A bit cold in the breakfast room -but it was desember and í had a cold -so probably in a natural state I wouldn't have felt like it being cold

It was very good to have breakfast and dinner. In my case - it was exellent. Very clouse to center - good location. It took 30 min.only by metro from hotel's door to airport. Unfortunately, at the entrance to the hotel, there is no a special ramp for luggage, but only a step. Inside the hotel - are a lot of steps too. Hard to carry the suitcase to the elevator.

Excellent, friendly, helpful staff at front desk and dining room. Breakfast and dinner meals were quite good, and saved a lot of money. Rooms are small. We had a room facing the street which I would recommend. The rooms facing the inside courtyard looked quite small with no exterior view.

The evening meal was a nice extra as was very generous and saved us eating out. Breakfast was pretty good too although they ran out of jam on the 2nd morning and I thought it odd they wouldn't go to the shop next door to buy some more. Quiet enough room and good location. The lady on reception with short blonde hair told us no shops were open on saturday afternoon. This was not the case. Lots of shops open until 6pm. When I told her this she was quite defensive and said that's not normal etc. other than that hotel was fine. Not exactly luxury but then copenhagen is expensive.

the hotel was in a great location, walking distance to all main atractions, breakfast was great and the evening meal is a great service which other hotels does not offer and it make a big difference. staff at the reception did not gave us much attention when we requested advice about what to do or where to go, but they were efficient for all the rest ...

We have been stayed at this hotel many times before and we'll keep doing it in the future. I think the hotel is very good and even so it's getting better with the years :) The rooms are very comfortable, nice (and quiet) interior design. 2 elevators. Breakfast has many options: cereals, bacon, eggs (soft, hard, scrambled), sausages, juice (apple and orange), bread (white and corn, rolls), at least 4 kind of cheese. Fresh fruits, pastry, biscuits, good coffee/tea options. Marmelades, honey, etc etc. The staff can provide you gluten free products, just ask them. Light supper in the evening is superb! Warm meal, fresh fruits, cheese, bicuits, soup, vegetables. We love the location, it's between the Castle Amalienborg and Kongens Ny Torg (Metro to/from the airport close the square, next to Magasin). Just 100m to Nyhavn. Very close (3 min walk down the St. Annes Plads) you have a wonderful view of the Opera. We find this hotel very relaxing!

“The hotel is charming and has a warm feel to it, like your back in time 200 years in Nordic history .The room is nice, though a bit dark ( small windows because its an old building) but thats no problem. The room is clean. Breakfast is ok, a nice choice of food, with nice view of the water. The location is perfect for the harbour ( eating lunch outside!) and shopping. It is away of the noise but close to the city centre. Copenhagen is a charming city, well worth a visit!” Ronald, Heerhugowaard |
