We were very happy with the hotel and will stay there again. We found it a little strange that staff tended to barge by guests instead of standing back to let them past. Staff rarely greeted you in the corridor although they were extremely polite and friendly to deal with when in conversation.
We loved the fact that we could park right outside the hotel for the duration of our stay. At a cost of 25 Euro a day, it was on par with what we would expect to pay in other European cities.
Our rooms were superb, both facing the water and really spacious and spotless. Our son's got a room upgrade which was a nice surprise, although completely wasted on 2 teenagers who took full advantage of the hotel's wifi and hardly registered their good luck.
Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of different foods. I liked the fact that there was a flask of hot coffee on each table as you sat down. There was a good mix of different nationalities staying at the hotel. We sat on the terrace one evening for drinks and found it very pleasant, we were really lucky with the weather, 25 degrees with a gentle breeze. Although there were building works across from the hotel which started at 7am, the windows were sufficient to keep out most of the noise.
The location of the hotel is ideal for anybody wanting a quieter location, 15 mins walk from The Little Mermaid. Tivoli Gardens was a bit of a trek but no more than 35 mins walk away. We could walk to Nyhavn in 5 mins where there were lots of good quality restaurants and bars. Service there was excellent. Food is generally excellent and although the prices are similar to London prices, the quality is so much better. Ingredients are fresh and seasonal, the Danes really know good food! The canal boat tour leaves from Nyhavn and was one of the highlights of our trip. It cost £36 approx for all 5 of us for a one hour trip, really well worth it! We also visited The Hard Rock Cafe which was so good.
We drove from the hotel to Falsterbo, Sweden across The Oresund Bridge. The journey took 50 mins door to door, we spent a lovely afternoon on a spotless, white sandy beach. We will most definitely be returning to Copenhagen and will be returning to The Admiral.
