We got a slightly better room after complaining. Its not really a hotel. Its more of a hostel. We booked it since it had a swimming pool but when we arrived the staff told us that it was closed and could not be used. We were given a room that was really bad. The wooden floor was completly ruined. Then bathroom had silverfish, ie small bugs on the floor and wall. We complained and were moved to a new room which was slightly better.

It was close to a swimming pool (half price with stay). The breakfast was reasonable Extremely noisey. Heavy sprung fire doors and thin walls, ceiling, floors combined with no soft furnishings makes this hotel very hard to sleep in. The gym and other parts were also under construction.

Great central location right next to the train station. Clean, functional design. Accesss to gym and pool. Very friendly, helpful staff. My TV did not work and the reception immediately sent up a technician, then moved me to another room.

Location, near railwaystation and easy to go every place. Beds were good. Little balcony was good to put drinks outside this time of year because no fridge in room. Most I was disappointed that double bed is two separeted beds together, which no stay together when sleep! Little noise from railwaystation, but not bad. Breakfast in other building, little cold to go there this time of year.

Hotel is part of a complex with bowling and pool center. Next to it there is a conference center and an area with modern theaters and art exhibition center. They did a mistake with my reservation and they overcharged me, when I saw them the printout with my reservation from booking, they credited me the difference.

Breakfast was good, internet was fast. Low pressure water in the shower, room not very clean, very simple furniture, have to pay for any facility (swimming pool), too expensive for the value.

Visited the city It was situated in the old "meat packing" area of Copenhagen which seems to be regenerating itself. The area felt fine in the daytime with the leisure centre and a school in close vicinity so there was activity going on all of the time but felt quite dark/remote in the evening and my wife said she would not feel comfortable at night coming back if she had not been with me. The surrounding area to the hotel was very seedy.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms were very nice, and the brunch and pool were an added bonus. I did not care for the multi-purpose body wash/shampoo/conditioner in the bathrooms.

Great for rail travelers ( near station) and bagage room at hotel a huge bonus as we had an evening train and could leave bags there all day. Balcony was unusual for city centre hotel but a great feature as we enjoyed relaxing there. Free tea and coffee ,which seems to be standard in uk hotels wasn´t included, although there was a kettle in the room! No mention of the kettle on the website?

The hotel in actually in between hostel and hotel, not much services, but comfort, clean, good location, simple and chic design. The added value is the swimming pools of different design. The breakfast is good.

The hotel has a nice outlook especially with the small statues and additional buildings around however the room was very small. Room was consisting of bed, shower and tv. Everything was at minimum need level. Standard things like minibar, soap, cofee, tea were missing. Soap, body shower and shampoo they were all replaced with Dove shampoo and conditioner for normal hair:) Our room was close to the train station and it was quite noisy at night. Staff was friendly but services of the hotel were very poor.

The hotel is super conveniently located next to Central Station & Tivoli Garden. The breakfast is decent. There is a bike rental close by which opens during weekend (10a-6p). I wish the hotel bathroom can be a bit more cleaner.

“The location to the train station (and secondary - the location to site seeing) was the main reason for choosing the ANSGAR Hotel. Good breakfast, although the breakfast room was very busy (school holidays).” Robert, Auchenflower |
