DGI-byen Hotel  

I like my stay in dgy it is a good hotel and I had the proper relax after traveling all around Europe. Breakfast was offering lots of options and internet very fast. An excellent hotel to spend few days and enjoy the Beautiful Copenhagen!

Good location which is conveinent to traval to other towns in Denmark or Sweden, and close to hight streets. The room is comfortable with enough space and good design.

The only point to complain is people can feel and hear the noise easily when the neighbors next to your room close the door.

I liked nothing about this hotel

I did not like this hotel. When we arrived at reception I did not want to check in. The location was terrible, placed among warehouses and not near any kind of transportation for the city. I felt like I was in a dormitory . The front desk people knew nothing about the hotel and not much more about the city.

It was available on short notice. It had a fitness center attached. Nice environment for breakfast.

Placed in a neighborhood with drug addics and prostittutes. Worn out - needs repair.

DGI-Byen Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the Copenhagen main train station. The complex includes a separate restaurant, conference centre, bowling alley, swimming pools and a variety of sports were catered for in the sports complex. While I stayed at the hotel there was a March deal so you could use the swimming pools and fitness centre free of charge. Check in is from 2 P.M., but it is possible to store to luggage there until check-in, or after you check out. Nearby there are quite a few restaurants. The 1a bus stopped closest to the hotel at one of the entrances to the train station. Its route went through the city centre for easy access to the major attractions there. The room wasa bit basic looking but I put that down to the architect keeping the hotel design in line with its industrial roots.The hotel was built in 2004 on the site of a meat market and warehouses. However, the room was light and airy, the bed comfortable, the bathroom was big and it was quiet at night despite being so close to the railway lines. I travelled to the hotel by train from the airport. The fare at the time of writing was 36dk one way. Tickets last for an hour so you have to buy them just before travel. The airport is 3 stops from the central station. Trains run every 10 minutes. Staff at the hotel were very helpful and when the lift broke down, ensured guests could use the service lift. The restaurant is in the closest of the renovated warehouses. If it rains, that could be a problem. Luckily, it was good weather during my stay. The breakfast had a good range of food on offer. Each day I chose a boiled egg. Every one was pefectly cooked with the yolk runny but the white solid. I think this is difficult to achieve. Fresh fruit and fresh fruit salad were also on offer.

There was no check on which luggage you put in or take out of the luggage store which was a bit worrying. The room wasa bit basic looking but I put that down to the architect keeping the hotel design in line with its industrial roots.The hotel was built in 2004 on the site of a meat market and warehouses. The only down side to the room I stayed in was that it needed a coat of paint to freshen up the walls and woodwork. The shower area had nowhere to put your own toiletries whilst showering. In the room there is no central light switch so you can't switch off the lights from your bed. The restaurant is in the closest of the renovated warehouses. If it rains, that could be a problem.

Easy to get too

Hotel was clean and the rooms for Copenhagen were big. Big advantage-not sharing bathroom.

Breakfast was good, internet was fast.

Low pressure water in the shower, room not very clean, very simple furniture, have to pay for any facility (swimming pool), too expensive for the value.

Location and friendliness of staff.Also breakfast was very good

Lack of parking at a reasonable cost

Terrible! Nothing good. Rooms are about at 35°, without conditioning!!! Problem with internet and parking, reception bad, problem with parking! The worst hotel I ever been, for 100 euros per night!!! Choose an other hotel!

The pictures on the website are absolutely different from reality. The hotel doesn't look like nice, cozy and clean place. In fact the hotel is a part of sports complex and there's a lot of people all the time coming on regular fitness. The furniture seems old and there is a feeling that everything is not clean and fresh. The room called superior looked like a hall with 2 beds which were placed there mistakenly. Wi-Fi connection is working in the hotel lobby only and cannot be used in the room. Breakfast is served in the next building which is not comfortable especially in rainy weather. We spent a lot of time to find the location. The call on reception was not of help as the staff was not able to explain how to find it. We booked 3 nights but left the next day and moved to other hotel.

Clean and minimalistic - breakfast good, fantastic soft boiled eggs

There was not enough storage to unpack our suitcases and there were not enough hangers. The plastic card/keys only worked about one in ten tries, in spite of efforts of the staff to make them work, and in spite of re-keying done numerous times. There was no room safe.

Always a friendly welcom at the DGI. Free use of the swimming pool and gym is excellent. Good choice at breakfast.

Can be noisy if on the train-track side. Location is not the pretty side of the tracks but only a short walk to the station and into the main part of the city centre beyond.
