As a female traveling alone for the first time, I had my worries about reaching Copenhagen at 6am, and not being able to check in immediately as the official check-in time is at 3pm. Nevertheless, the concierge staff was extremely helpful in allowing me an early check in and patiently explained the breakfast options to me. The staff made my stay at the First Hotel Mayfair very comfortable, as I was always greeted with warm smiles and they were ever ready to help. Also, the free wifi was very strong throughout the hotel, and my connection was never laggy.
My only qualm about the hotel was the lack of a hot water kettle in the room. Other than that, everything else was more than satisfactory.
The location was perfect, the beds were soft. The bottom bed sheet (the blue under sheet) looked like it needed a clean and the bathroom had mould BUT compared to other hotels in the area it was good value and these things didn't ruin the visit.
Our friends were staying in rooms on the 2nd floor and they said that they could hear EVERYTHING from the rooms around them and it disturbed their sleep. we were on the 4th and could only hear footprints from above but nothing major. Also, the first night of our stay the room was very hot- we found the dial to turn down the heating in the room. It would have been more convenient if there were coffee/ tea making facilities in the room rather than in the restaurant.
Hotel location, breakfasts, price
Shower in the bathroom: water flowed everywhere
Noise at the front of the hotel in the early morning - drunks heading home and the early refuse vehicle.
Small bedroom. Broken bedlights, broken hairdryer, broken soap dispenser. This is not the way to satisfy a couple in the mid 70!
Great location just by the station real helpful staff and good breakfast
There are very bright lights on the street side of the hotel - they have got black out curtains but the light is so strong that it comes round the edges. Even though i live in central London I found it too light to sleep well. Also they used to include a buffet dinner in the price which was a really nice idea, good food and no need to venture out after a long day, since they have been take over they no longer do this which is disappointing
Breakfast, even though the dining was too small for a full hotel. well situated for Tivoli and train station.
Tiny rooms. Rooms too warm but the noise at the front of the hotel was too much to leave the windows open.
Location was very good
Small bath rooms
Friendly staff, near by the central station and shopping area and clean facility. Everything is more than satisfaction without missing something.
The building is old and the floor giving the noises. And the space of the bath room is entirely small.
The hotel is located only few hundred meters from the main railway station. The rooms are quite small but the bed is very good. The breakfast was excellent (incl. bacon, eggs, pancaces, many kind of breads, fresh fruits, yoghurt and many more, this was propably one of the best hotel breakfasts ever.
The ventilation of the room was poor, luckily the weather was quite chilly, so it didn't make any harm.
locaion, people, very quiet during night
breakfast is not good as expected
Nice interior, good breakfast, kind personnel
Noise from machines in backyard
The hotel was very comfortable and in a convenient location close to Central Station. The bed was fantastic. One of the best hotel beds I've slept in for a long while. The staff were helpful and friendly and all spoke excellent English. We have a very pleasant stay and would recomed it!
As a non smoking hotel smoking is not permitted in the hotel. As I'm a smoker it was not a problem going outside other than after dark when you run the gauntlet of the roaming prostitutes touting for trade! I was however questiond on check out/departure and a note had been put on my account that I had smoked in the room. This I did not. The hotel have a policy to charge 2000.00kr if you smoke in the room. I said that I had not and they accepted my answer. I was however a little upset by this.
Hey, I just spent one night, but I can say that my stay there was great. Bed was very comfy, may be they can put some better pillows, breakfast was great. Over all I will stay there again.
Great Staff, everysingle one was incredibly nice and smiling and very professional Location is great outside pateo/terrace is a must
even though there are drinks no real bar is avaiable (and there was no whisky.. :( ) Wifi failed
Wifi, breakfast, location
Smelly room, terrible bed
Central cndution impoissible to stop, it was cold in the room
The location between Tivoli and Vesterbrogade was wonderful. Nice and central. The hotel is nice, and the staff are excellent. I would stay there again.
The block is seedy. This is red light distric, with strip clubs on the east and west sides of the building, and offers of cocaine and street prostitutes on the south side of the building, among the sex shops of Istedgade. It still feels quite safe, though, this being nw Europe. And there's good food and bars sprinkled through the zone, so it's oddly mixed. Cushions a little stained and the carpet a little frightening, the place was otherwise clean, and I saw no bugs or dirty sheets.
Location, breakfast, staff. Excellent Wi Fi, despite being near main road good sound proofing.
Small bathroom, parking, but they give a discount at a car park 5 min walk away. more (feather) pillows please. No aircon
The staff were very friendly and helpful Breakfast buffet was brilliant
I cannot fault the hotel at all, great location, friendly staff, great spread of breakfast.
The only negative thing was the bed. It was extremely soft so after sleeping there for 2 nights had quite a back pain.
Really nice lobby facilities, for sitting down with friend/s, having a coffee or a drink and a chat!
There was no coat hanger and there could be better mirrors, both in the bathroom (for shaving/makeup) and a larger one in the room.
The hotel is in a good position close to the rail and metro station and with good bus links. We were able to have a good breakfast and could have had coffee all day! A lovely large room and comfortable bed. Very helpful and friendly staff.
There was a problem with the heating in our room which despite informing the staff was not fixed - the room was cold.
Location was not good as I had read from the comments, there was a loud and cheap looking nude club just across the street and prostitutes and negotiations were nearby :( the taxi drivers told me to be careful because the left side of the street was going to the unsecure places of the city, the receptionists (except Karina) were very dull and unfriendly, room was tiny, breakfast was not included and finding a free table in the breakfast room was difficult because it was too small. It was an unpleasant stay for me and I don't understand anything about the good reviews that were written here.
Location was good Staff were friendly and helpful Breakfast was good
