Fort Young Hotel  

I did love the whole hotel and my room. It was really clean and felt secure. Good wifi, clean beautiful bathroom, dark wooden floors, good bed. There are no bug screens on the windows but put of the air conditioner and put the fan on. It keeps any mosquitoes away. I had no superb views from the balcony/ patio, but that didn't mind me at all, for the views are fantastic from the pool area etc.. and the atmosphere really relaxing. Yes, the music is loud at night, but it's just the way Roseau is.. if you need total silence this is not a place for you. I loved my stay and will be back again.

up-to-date gym (equipment, AC, TV) excellent food at bar and good value good wifi connection fridge and coffeemaker in standard rooms also

overpriced activities (hiking guides, diving) standard rooms cramped

I loved the warmth of the staff, the ambiance of the hotel. The cleanliness of the room, the location of the hotel, the view from my room was breath taking at sun up and sun down. The food was great.

That I had to check out I wish my stay was longer.

The hotel provides stunning views on the edge of the oceans we got the ocean front rooms in the new section and left the windows open all night the sound of waves crashing below to put you to sleep is idilic Everyone of the staff was very friendly and that spreads to the people of Dominica who could not be more helpfull.

Hotel is made based on the old Fort with quite interesting historical background, thus the design is unusual and beatiful. Nice "infinity" pool with the sea vew is available at hotel premises, though it is small and only up to 10 guests can use it at a time. Might be a problem during high season.

We were given the room located at the far end of the fort, almost above the busy street. It would have been ok in general, if only at 6 AM one morning loud noise from the grass-cutter didn't awoke us. That was done at the lawn near the church opposite the street, but we couldn't sleep any more. On our complaints the reception just noted that as soon as this is not the Fort they could do nothing. Noone from the hotel approached the worker to negotiate the issue, and we could "enjoy" the sound for the next three hours. So if you are suggested the rooms #501-502 be aware of grass-cutting early rise possibility. In addition probably preparing for the high season hotel staff was constantly repairing something at the hotel territory, that didn't add any comfort to our stay. I should also note that the Activities desk provide overpriced tours, though it seems to be overall Dominica feature. We enjoyed the waterfalls (Trafalgar etc.), but the ride to Indian river combined with rainforest wasn't worth the price paid - swiming in the sea (that was part of the tour in the presentation) was merely impossible as the guide took us to very dirty beach with lot's of plastic/litter drifting in the water. And agreeing that this place is not suitable for swiming he didn't suggest any other options, just took us further to the rainforest, where we arrived to early to see the unique parrots of Dominica. Though maybe it was our unlucky day, that began with the grass-cutter! :)

Bad experinence riped of at the price of room charged 139 a night not 120 with taxes

No doubt that this is the closest Dominica comes to a luxury hotel that feels completely safe. Beautiful location right on the Roseau boardwalk, stunning ocean views from the rooms facing the sea, wonderful pool area, excellent dining and more-than-great cocktails served by an amazingly friendly bar staff.

Reception desk team were rather snobbish and bear in mind that Roseau downtown is not a charming place to be after sunset unless you have a thing for dark ramshackle sheds and colourful/suspicious characters on drugs.

Good quality/price: a lot of facilities like jacuzzi, swimming pool, gym... Nice and confortable room, well equipped with the essentials, iron and ironing board, hairdrier but not with the kitchen, just a micro- fridge.. Staff very friendly and efficient. I recommend it. :)

The ambiance was great the location central.Having stayed there years ago I was quite surprised of the enormous extension. Sorry I had to check out one day early due to unavailability of room.

Its a bit pricy but the service compensated

Sa situation près de l'embarcadère. Son accueil. Ses superbes chambres.

Bel hôtel bien tenu dans site agréable; très bon confort; personnel sympathique; accueil excellent; situation géographique idéale pour visites de la Dominique.

Problème de confidentialité des données carte bleue lors de la réservation (confirmation de la réservation par mail non protégé incluant l'ensemble des données confidentielles de la carte) Ce problème a été signalé à Booking et à l'hôtel mais n'a donné lieu à aucune compensation alors que la banque a demandé une opposition sur la carte!

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Meer und ebeso direkt in der Stadt. Vom Hotel aus kann man auch ebenso direkt zu den tollsten Tauchausflügen aufbrechen.

Die Zimmer werden nach einem sturen Ablauf gemacht auch wenn man den ganzen Tag das Bitte- Zimmer-machen Schild rausgehängt hatte kommt das houskeeping um 16 Uhr wenn man sich grade ausruhen möchte. Die Klimaanlage führt ein Eigenleben, wir sind ihr nicht immer Herr geworden. Das Personal am Empfang begrüsst zwar freundlich, lässt einen dann aber eine Stunde in der Bar warten. Das Restaurant auf der Terasse am Meer ist gut, wenn es denn offen ist. Am Karfreitag ( in Rosesu so ziemlich alles zu hatte auch das Fort Young Restaurant zu und das bei vollem Haus ).

Par rapport aux autres structures d'hébergement sur La Dominique le rapport qualité/prix est ok. La situation à 200 mètres du débarcadère est au coeur de la ville de Roseau. Bien situé également pour découvrir le Centre et le Sud Ouest de l'ïle.

Certaines chambres (exemple 507) surplombent un système de ventilation très bruyant toute la nuit. Peu de renseignements précis de la part de l'accueil (nous attendons toujours le t-shirt du Carnaval).

Es wurden mir von meiner Kreditkarte einfach 20 % mehr abgezogen, als der vereinbarte Preis auf Ihrer Bestätigung. Mein Brief mit genauen Angaben und Bitte für Rückvergütung folgt per E-Mail.

Eclairage insuffisant dans la chambre les lampes de chevet ne fonctionnaient pas; aucun personnel de l'accueil ne parlait pas francais

de centrale ligging in de stad, een mooi historische plek (oud fort), kamer met balkon met oceaanzicht, de golven onder je tegen de rotsen te pletter horen slaan, grote kamer en grote natte ruimte. alles keurig verzorgd

geen, alleen de prijs lijkt mij iets te hoog.

L'ensemble de l'hôtel

Que les chambres mises à disposition par e booking sont les chambres low cost de l hôtel ch 501 à 5.. Qu'elles sont situées en bordure de la route principale et que l on ne peut plus en changer ni partir , pas de remboursement du séjour . Résulta 6 nuits sans dormir!

Es liegt direkt am Hafen in Roseau, man kann von hier alle interessanten Spots auf der Insel bewuem erreichen.

Abends war es unserem Zimmer ein wenig hellhörig, man sollte eher im Anbau am Wasser wohnen.

Lækkkert værelse med balkon og havudsigt.

Belle situation et bons équipements

Dommage le personnel n'était pas très agréable et c'était une ambiance "business" avec beaucoup d'hommes d'affaires, tarifs petit déjeuner et restauration élevés ....
