Situated in a quiet area next to the River Pagua, Hibiscus Valley Inn is close to the rainforest and also between the village of Marigot and Concord. It offers airport and ferry shuttle for a fee and a natural river pool. The nature bungalows have Dominican, country-style and feature a terrace with garden views, ceiling fans and safety deposit box. The bathrooms are private and have shower. Guests at Hibiscus Valley Inn can arrange guided adventurous hikes to the Boiling Lake and waterfalls. Whale watching, snorkelling and scuba diving can be organised too. We are also close to Waitukubuli trail. The two open-air restaurants are specialized in traditional, local food with an international touch as well as organic farmed fruits and vegetables. Fresh roasted local coffee and lemon grass tea are offered and packed lunches are available for tours. The Hibiscus Valley Inn is within a 10-minute drive from Marigot Town Centre and walking distance from shops in Concord. A sequence of beautiful beaches starts 5 minutes' drive away. Very relaxed. Lots of birds and lizards on the premises. Beautiful gardens and good privacy between the bungalows. The second time we stayed there it was later in the season. There was no one to check us in so we had to call the proprietor to get someone to help us. After a few hours in the room, the pump for water stopped working. We were without the use of a toilet and shower until the next morning when we were able to report the problem. Both of these problems were quickly addressed once management became aware of them.

The staff were really welcoming and friendly (including the dogs!) The look and feel of the place was beautiful - great gardens and flowers. Thin walls unfortunately, but this was only a minor thing and did not bother us as the setting was so beautiful.

Quality price was good, very good when comparing to other places on the island which are really over rated! Friendly atmosphere which channelled the making of new friends with other guests staying at the inn The only problem is that it is a bit out of the way compared to the main sights on the islands. So keep in mind that a car rental is a must and that you will have to trade 1 hour to get to places every day (another to get back)

The people are fabulous -- the staff and owners were all a real highlight of the trip. The room was comfortable, and the location good for what we wanted. Very natural -- no A/C in the cottages (which was fine given the climate), and solar hot water. The location is beautiful, and the river across the street has a natural pool that is delicious after a long day of hiking. Good food, reasonably priced, and a well-stocked bar. But the people really shine here. The sheets could use upgrading. Also, while I understand that they're not common in other countries, I really prefer screens on the windows to using a mosquito net over the bed...

I can't describe the incredible feeling of belonging to a place better than my stay at Hibiscus Valley Inn. We river- tubed with 2 family children and Rog, and truly had the best fun and overwhelming sense of peace. Nigel's food and conversation were both excellent. In my mind,, I'm still there and hope my mind stays there a very long time.

Loved the staff, the food, the knowledgeable guides! Meals together family style created lively discussions with couples about global issues, Loved the paintings and artistic environment of the accomodations. Owner is great and creates a laid back atmosphere but makes sure you are getting the trips you would like into the rain forests and around the island.

The location is quite lovely and the price is lower than many comparable hotels in Dominica. It's very difficult to get a receipt or to get change for even small purchases, such as supper.
