Picard Beach Cottages

location/proximity to Ross Medical School as was dropping son off tidy yet basic cabins. bathrooms extremely basic yet totally fine for our needs not your chain hotel more like fancy summer camp cabins with fans and Air conditioning which worked very well! location on the beach was amazing!!!! maid service daily was nice too! if you want luxury you will not find it here, but the simplicity of the cabins was indeed luxurious. Luckily we experienced no bugs in the cabin, but I am sure others have not been so lucky

sand fleas on the beach - it would have been REALLY nice to have had a heads up about this. My lower legs look as though I have the measles and I have placed a call to my doctor now that I am home. it would have been nice to have fresh towels everyday as using them for the beach, showering and wiping feet entering the cabin....got them quite messy. restaurant next door was just okay.

They were small bungalos right on the beach; very native-like and very quiet (except the kids in the bungalo next door). It was a little hard to find going north as the sign to it is obscured by vegetation and you can only see it going south. It has no frontage on the road, just a sign and a road leading back to it. If you don't know exactly where it is on the map, you will miss it. It is right next to the Ross University dorms, and it had a guard and gate (I felt very secure). The beach had rich volcanic sand and lots of pebbles. A pier had been in place a long time and was only partially rebuilt. We jumped off and went snorkeling to the reefs. Nothing fantastic compared to Cozumel or Grand Cayman...

The cottage was very roomy and cozy with a great porch to enjoy the beach and the beautiful sunsets.

We liked everything about it!

I loved the quaintness of the cottages, their relative privacy and the friendliness of the staff. The staff went beyond the call of duty to make you comfortable.

I did not like the mosquitoes and the inconsistent Internet connectivity.

While we stayed in a rustic type wood cabin, it was located right on the beach with a large shade tree on the property. We had the best of both worlds, a nice carribean water to jump into and a shady place to sit in our beach chairs. We were visiting our daughter at ross univ, so she could see us in btw classes very easily and was within walking distance. We were very close to a restaurant/bar so ordering drinks or food was easy. Great visit to dominica in June and we plan on going back this fall and asking to stay in the same Picard beach cottage. Wonderful flowers and fruit trees on property and the front desk easily arrange our taxis to dinner or iga store.

Only downside was not being able to call a local number from our room phone, needed to go to the front desk to do that, but not a deal breaker.

Sa situation en bord de mer et le romantisme des cottages.Vue superbe sur la baie de Portsmouth. Propreté et entretien du "jardin". Excellent accueil a la réception: nous étions 5 au lieu de 4.Grande compréhension.EXCELLENT hôtel!!

Le seul "bemol" etait le bruit au bar, occupé par les étudiants de l'université. Avons préféré boire un pot et diner en ville.

Confort un peu spartiate des bungalows avec absence d' eau chaude pendant notre séjour

A notre arrivée : - Réfrigérateur pas branché, donc pas possibilité faire rafraichir de l'eau rapidement. -Climatiseur pas en service : douce chaleur dans la location. Douche : Eau chaude indisponible, robinet d'eau froide reste dans la main.

Direkt am Strand / schöner Garten

die Bungalows sind alt und es ist nicht alles so sauber - für junge Leute / Backpacker ok ..allerdings ist wenig geboten..

The cottage was comfortable and the beach very near. The place was a good starting point to visit Dominica. According to our reservation, we were expecting a cottage just in front of the beach. It was not the case (second row). The kitchen was convenient. We used the restaurant within the hotel premises. The service, the quality of the meals and the prices were all unacceptable. So we did our own cooking. This made our stay much more pleasant.

People are friendly.

TV signal is snowy and hardly see. It is mainly for audio news only. TV remote has no battery. Has to operate manually. Too many mosquito, probably due to the Cottages are surrounded by too many trees. The toilet is too small. The shower top/place is too small too. It is probably only 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet only (may be 2' x 2'). Not even enough space to raise my foot. No phone, no clock, no chance for wakeup call to catch the plane. No staff after 7 or 8 o'clock. Basically it is only a shelter with mosquito. It is way too expansive for the money.

Für Leute, die auf Dominica Strandferien machen wollen oder ein paar Tage am Meer verbringen möchten ist das Hotel ideal gelegen. Aus dem Bett steigen und nach wenigen Schritten im Wasser schwimmen!

Wer allerdings auf Dominica einfach am Strand liegt, der verpasst das Schönste an diesem Land. Man kann das Hotel jedoch auch als Ausgangsort für Ausflüge in die Berge, in der Dschungel und zu den Wasserfällen nutzen!

L'emplacement des cottages sur la plage. Le calme environnant. L'espace offert à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur.

Les climatiseurs bruyants qui se mettaient en route et s'arrêtaient régulièrement. Pas de shampoing ni gel douche à notre disposition.
