The Saone Peninsula is the most pleasant part of DR.
The Saone Peninsula is the most pleasant part of DR. A large number of different beaches, so that everyone can find something suitable for themselves. Traffic in the city is chaotic, but perfectly manageable once you get used to it, both by car and motorbike. Pleasant sitting and sipping cocktails at the Colibri beach bar. You have a lot possibilities to eat, different restaurants, bars, or you grab smth on the street.

Ballenas beach was amazing for swimming, and great restaurants nearby . We stayed at a smaller condo/hotel close to the beach and were very happy. Feed the poor homeless dogs. The town itself is chaotic and noisy but Ballenas beach area was wonderful

My family and I often go to Las Terrenas where we enjoy the clean water and beach, the lush vegetation and the overall low key ambiance. We do long walks on the beach, surfing and we enjoy the excellent restaurants - Italian and French - in town. Terrenas is for the indépendant traveler who wants to discover other culture. There are also beautiful excursions avsilable: Los Haitises with their unique eco system, the hike to El limon waterfall and catamaran rides to other beaches! Waiting to go back!

Las Terrenas is a busy, small town filled with motorcycles,...
Las Terrenas is a busy, small town filled with motorcycles, ATV's and cars crowding the streets. Once you learn the direction (one way streets) quite manageable. Parking can be a problem in some places but the better restaurants have attendants to help you find a spot. The two large grocery stores have ample parking. A very good choice of nice, highly rated beachside restaurants. More casual dining experiences along the main downtown streets. Lots of French and especially Italian influence. KiiKii beach bar/restaurant sells POUTINE, as good as any in Quebec! Cheese locally made. Even found an outlet selling Beavertails!
Beaches are beautiful and you can park on most of them. Loud "Boom Box" music coming out of the cruising or parked cars and ATV's will make you smile! La joie de vivre is everywhere! Il Lemon waterfall is beautiful and worth the trip if you are able. Clave Verde Eco lodge up the mountain for a change of scenery and wonderful lunch.
Support the locals and buy something!!

The city of Las Terrenas isn't something special.
The city of Las Terrenas isn't something special. A touristic place crouded of cars and motorcycles. If you are coming from Europe the level is low. However there are some good spots (restaurants, bars, gift shops) that the service is good and upgrated. It has to be mentioned that those places owned by europeans.Mostly French.
The beaches around Las Terrenas are amazing. Like you see them at photos. White sand, waves and palm trees.
Zero points to El Limon. The place is amazing but the people close to it is a mess. So negative for the turism of the area. The government has to do something. It's so unsafe and they ask so much money to guide you there, even the official turist agents. If you have time to the country there are other places you can visit

The beaches and the views are amazing!
The beaches and the views are amazing! Outside the hotels there are plenty of restaurants, friendly faces snd a lot of green vegetation. Driving at night can be scary because the area leading into the hip part needs better lighting.
Breakfast was delicious every day. I tried a few different things. The yogurt was surprisingly great. The coffee had a nice spice in it and there was complimentary fresh fruit and juice with breakfast every morning. Las Terrenas is still figuring out its tourism scene (which makes it wonderful because the beaches are still very untouched and not too busy if you go at the right time), so don't expect the kind of resort-like experience you may get elsewhere, but it was exactly what we were looking for.
First the over charge my credit card , not hot water on bathroom, the tv was down not cable service available no towels on the room I requested.the say the got parking for the car customers had to leave the car outside the property, my reservation was for 108.00 US dollar I was charge 111.82 I need booking. Com to make action regarding my case I feel that I should get I full refund for my stay for my that the worst place I stay on Dominican Republic.
I loved staying here! I loved being so close to the beach, it really made my trip to Las Terrenas very comfortable. The hosts are so cool but also relaxed, which made staying very comfortable. I liked being able to go in the natural pool and the beautiful garden and it was really a peaceful treat to stay here. Also some of the best wifi I had while in the Dominican Republic! I would definitely come back :) Such a beautiful, thoughtful space.
Beautiful place, very clean, amazing breakfasts, great hosts. Very close to beautiful beaches and Las Terrenas waterfront restaurants and bars.
Mathias, his family and staff were super friendly and helpful, they gave us great recommendations for the local area and made us feel comfortable and relaxed.
We had an amazing time and wished we had spent more time in this area rather than Punta Cana/Cap Cana!
We would love to stay again.
In a few words: a tropical paradise in Las Terrenas.
The place is really beautiful, charming, calm. The outsides have been carefully designed and are very well kept. The rooms have a very nice decoration wich makes you feel great and at home.
The hotels gives the possibility to purchase some massages: go ahead!! They are very very well executed!!!
Ideally located at a walking distance to the restaurants and bars along the beach.
Was thankful to book a last minute overnight at Beach Hotel Casa Nina since it was in a great location near the beaches and downtown area of Las Terrenas. Many restaurants were within walking distance and the hotel itself was very charming and quiet. The hosts were very friendly and the room was very comfortable. I love this area of Las Terrenas! Many European travelers and a safe, friendly, relaxed vibe.
Friendly, spotlessly clean hotel in a great location within easy walking distance of Las Terrenas restaurants and beaches. Rooms are in two bungalows and a motel-style building surrounding a garden and pool area. Excellent security arrangements with electronic room locks and outer gate. Breakfast area near the pool has a shared kitchen that many guests use to prepare their meals.
My partner and I arrived on the first day when El Rincon de Abi transitioned to the new owners. We had a very good experience and nice talks with the new owners. They are very friendly and motivated and they have very ambitious and creative ideas to change the place. We look forward to going back to las Terrenas and visiting El Rincon de Abi in the future.
Great location, very close to the beautiful Playa Bonita. Beautiful boutique hotel, nice bungalow, very private, with 2 different seating and dining areas outside. All set in a luxurious garden with a pool.
Peaceful atmosphere, with everything made so that the guests feel like home. Darts game, pool table etc. Staff very welcoming and giving good advice.
The hotel was right on the beach and had its own restaurant that provided wonderful meals, that were priced reasonably, either in the comfort of your room or right on the beach. The staff was wonderful. Breakfast was included and was buffet style. Bed was comfortable and amenities were great. I was pleasantly surprised.
The decor, cleanliness, location and service at the hotel were exceptional. It really felt like a 5 star experience and Gabi was so helpful in sending me suggestions of places to eat and visit and was always quick to answer.
I can highly recommend staying here if you’re in Las Terrenas! It’s beautiful!
I really enjoy my stay at this villa. I recommend to any one. is close to everything.

If i come back to las terrenas I have this please at my first option.
it's not by the beach but is not necesary because is very close to it.
Great location to enjoy with a group. Nice pool and outside area. In a few minutes you drive to the center of las Terrenas. Communication with the host was really good.
We would definitely recommend it!
Attention to details, clean and great service. Gabi is the best hotel manager you will ever come across - she made us feel welcomed, gave us recommendations and made our stay as perfect as one can be.
Edith is an excellent host and has creates an oasis of tranquility complete with a sanctuary for beautiful animals, birds and flora. Simply the best place that we’ve stayed in the Dominican Republic.
This hotel is top of the line. Beautiful property
Beautiful and clean rooms.
One of my favorite properties on my trip. I should have stay at the property in Santo Domingo too.
The hotel has been preserved as we remember it from 7 years ago. It is clean and well maintained.
