Location was very good. Service also good in general. Japanese restaurant was a wonderful surprise. There was a show made by the chef! Mexican restaurant was very nice!
Wi if was paid and terrible quality. All time disconnecting. And was very expensive. 12 dollars one day! For only one gadget. Italian restaurant offered poor service.
staff is horrible. food on some restaurants is disgusting. paid wifi does not work well.
Beach is beatiful. Location is good, you can walk by the beach and find nice places.
You need to book dinner table days before. If you dont all you can have bad buffet or disgusting burgers. Staff is slow. I took 6 hours and 4 call sto get baby bed. We booked for 16 nights and checked out after 7 nights.
Well manicured. Nice pools. Gym was spacious. Felt very safe and secure.
Food at the restaurants was not very good. The sports served bad With reservations we always had to wait a long time to be seated. -service at the spa was not adequate -resort is a mega resort and does not feel intimate. -Not worth the money in my opinion and would not repeat this experience.
awesome time and good food. This is the place to take your kids
Wifi was a joke
My husband and I had a great time at Barcelo Bavaro Palace Deluxe. The place was very clean, the staff was all very nice. Our first time at an all inclusive resort and it was wonderful. We had Premium access to everything with an Ocean View room which was fantastic. I recommend upgrading to Premium, the French Restaurant is exclusive for Premium members and it was delicious. Also, with Club Premium you get wifi for free rather than having to pay for access which was nice.
If you are a young couple and you don't want to get splashed or hear screaming from children while you are relaxing in the pool chairs I would recommend the Adults only side. Should have requested a King bed, when we arrived to our room we had 2 double beds which they pushed together. The only places we went for food we either the 2 buffet restaurants or when we made reservations for dinner. Wasn't crazy about the food at the Italian restaurant or the sports bar. Everything at the resort was quite expensive for things you needed to pay for (gift shop, cigars, excursions)
We found that the resort was pretty much as described by previous reviewers, with the exception that we didn't have any difficulty communicating in English with the staff, who were all very pleasant. We normally rent an apartment in Barbados at this time of year but, as our kids are now 4 and nearly 3 and demanding constant entertainment, this year we thought we would try an all-inclusive resort with lots of things for them to do. From that perspective it was a great success. They absolutely loved the main water park for youngsters (as opposed to Pirates Island, which does appear to be an enormous white elephant), the toddlers pool near the restaurants, the Kids Club, the mini-golf and even the pool room in the sports bar. I imagine that if we return here in future we will also get great use out of the football pitch and the golf course. Having read about the size of the resort we decided to take their balance bikes and scooters so they could roar around. They collapsed exhausted into bed every night. The room was fine, and the buffet food very good, with good variety and quality. I can't comment on the a la carte restaurants as we didn't venture into them. The alcohol and coffee was pretty ordinary but that didn't really bother us. The towel service worked well and there were plenty of recliners. We didn't have any difficulty with checking in or out, even though the resort was full.
The major disappointment was something that the owners cannot do anything about: the beach. With a north eastern aspect, it was exposed to strong and generally chilly winds throughout the day, the water was much colder than we are used to in other Caribbean locations (very few people summoned up the courage to go in), there was plenty of seaweed on the sand and in the water, and the exhaust fumes from the speedboats were constantly blown onshore. Overall I would rate the beach experience as only 2/10 compared to e.g. Dover Beach or Mullins Beach in Barbados, and for this reason we would think hard before returning. If you could put this resort on those beaches, it would be fabulous! We also found the wi-fi in the room to be very unreliable. I suspect this is something to do with the routers around the property as the reception in Reception was perfect. As expected, the resort credits turned out to be a myth: they aren't freebies as such, but merely a means of reducing the exorbitant price of things (e.g. $80 off a $300 massage!).
beach is impressive, has quiet sections as well as entertainement. Uncomplicated atmosphere in bars and restaurants.hotel is furnished with taste. Food in general is good.
Food-quality sometimes unsatisfying. Prices tagged in US-$ but calculated in DOP (also applies to shops), applies also to room-bill!. Look at bill closeley when checking out! Extra wine is overprized. Forget house-wine. WIFI (Speed - 20kB) cost US 40 for 6 days (one device) forget VOIP. A US 500 credit limit applies to room. Christmas sound repeating in the hotel-area every hour.
The location was nice and the pools were very nice. It was clean.
The staff was not adequate for the number of guests. There were lines at the concierge dests every day that lasted 20-30 minutes. The food was not great. It felt like quantity, not quality.
The property, facilities and staff were fantastic. The beach and pools are gorgeous. We loved that we never felt crowded and the restaurants were top notch. Great place for kids, adults and adults with kids. Plenty of things to do for all.
Because we have 3 kids, we were forced into a room upgrade and ultimately bought the Club Premium package to avoid individual charges for some activities and WiFi. We figure we got our money's worth but it was not a planned expense.
Cleanliness Friendliness of staff especially if you attempt to speak spanish Ability to make all dinner reservations at one time Even though it was crowded we were still able to find lounge chairs
Buffet food wasn't fresh
Very well maintained and clean facility.
The food could have been better.
The facilities of the hotel in general are excellent. There are many options of restaurants and entertainments.
a queen size bed would be better
LONG WALKS. NOT CLOSE TO TOWN.
Everything that was promised when i booked for this trip was on point, next trip will be a fun filled Family trip with the kids and grandkids in the planning already cant wait
The resort was perfectly manicured, clean, and beautiful. I appreciated that paddle boats, kayaks, and small sail boats were included. I also loved that they had a sports bar and a coffee/rum bar.
The food was just okay. I understand a difference in international tastes -- but I've been to a few other resorts in Punta Cana, and this food was not special. It was really the only disappointing quality of the trip. Beware of where you book your room. We were out by the golf course, and it was quite a walk or brief train ride to the main resort area.
Is new, clean a beautiful resort. The rooms are clean and big and there are many things to do. Beatiful beaches and pool
There is not enough staff per guest therefore they take to long to serve in restaurant and pool and beach
The rooms was nasty, the bed haved bad smells
Excellent food, good semi-professional nightly entertainment, fair to questionable club premium value, fair English speaking staff, few boats for free water sport activities, beautiful property, design, many well-designed & super clean adult and kids pools, etc. there were always plenty of available beach chairs poolside and on the beach.
Great resort, but TV's, coffee makers, phones, AC units could benefit from upgrades. Gym was beautiful but three treadmills were broken which took almost half out of service for a 1,200 plus room resort!
Beautiful views Relaxing environment Hot tub on every balcony Food was decent
Amebic Dysentery the 2nd night I was there Bed bug bites
Great guidance on the web page, but more detail is needed to guide in the check in process
Appalling and chaotic check in and check out process, no supervision, poor signage to indicate what desk to head to. It can be improved and streamlined.
The beach and the room is good.
The food is not so good. YOU cant have food in the pool. You don't have Air conditioned in many places of the Resort. And you have to wear pants in the Dinner. It's Was so hot for that.
Beds were very hard - uncomfortable to sleep on.
Rooms were good and clean. Cleaning people were friendly and courteous. Lots of activites to offer. Beautiful beach and pools.
Bartenders were not friendly and were not customer oriented. It take lomg to get a drink and in many instances it felt like I was begin for service.
