Conveniently situated near Santo Domingo’s bustling commercial and business districts, the Occidental El Embajador treats each guest with the pomp and circumstance befitting of worldly diplomats.
Score from 98 reviews Very good
I love the bed they are supper comfortable. The shower was amazing with Hot and cold cold water with very good pressure. Everything was supper clean. The pool are very fancy and very comfortable specially for small children. The bar was nice. Didn't eat a the restaurant but had room service one night it was good.
The taxy from the hotel charge too much. Try to call a local cab company it's 60% cheaper. The internwt was too expensive u ton t get free wifi :\
the location, the restaurant, the pool..
Security, and the courtesy of the staff.
Sometimes the supplies of the toiletries and the necessary things make coffee.
I like the comfort, the cleanliness, the dining area, the food
The staff knocking the door too many times, and used the keys opening the room door while we were Inside. I understand they were trying to be helpful but they need to wait.
location and comfort
In 2014, can't be charging for WiFi. That was really greedy!!!
WIFI daily rates are astonishing expensive for a Latin American nation.
The premium level is on point, but the fridge should be available in each room of the premium... And pool close too early on sundays and mondays.... Otherwise its chic! Like it 3rd time!
The fact that security have to check every women evenn your own ciblings like they were some type of "hoe"
Great beds and shower
The bed and coffee.
The room need it to be clean, so we had to go back down to the front desk...
They triple charged me. First they charged a no-show because I arrived at 2am when my flight got in. Then they gave me a room (after some considerable time) and double charged me for that. I think this is because the reception staff are running a gig where they take money in order to provide rooms off the books for illicit liaisons between tourists and little boys. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is that of a low grade brothel. The staff are extremely slow and incompetent (probably because a bribe is required to secure anything). A very nasty and disagreeable experience. A very nasty low rent low grade hotel that I would not recommend to anyone respectable.
I liked the facility and available amenities as well as the different things to do within the building and everything was clean and well maintained.
I've stayed here twice and beyond the front desk, service is horrible! For example, I asked for water bottles from the cleaning lady who knocked on my door asking if I needed room service, never came. I received a call from room service and I asked for water again, never came. To get any of the wait staff to smile is impossible -- it appears they are unhappy and don't want to be there.
Very good breakfast, nice swimming pool area, gym.
Our room had not been renovated, very dark and dump. But I saw renovated floors, and it was very nice and beautiful. Only 1 person on reception could speak english.
accommodations pool weight room great location to Metro Bus station
terrible service in Dining room waited one hour for my food
We liked everything the lady's and gentlemen at the front desk were very kind Luis Mercedes. Genesis Rubella. Ricardo. German the bellboy also the lady's and gentlemen in the coffee shop. Ana Francisca Pauline. Manuel Silver Lulo Santana. Maria Vitoria Melendez. Maria Done. Ana lens. Estefan Santana. Cleto Yafresi. We were at the piano bar the night we were celebrating our 10th anniversary. They were kind there too. They even dedicate a song for us. We were very happy to be there
we like the design of the hotel. we like the pool, the bar was really nice. the location was so so, could have been better, definitely and the slums.
I did not like that the staff would not believe us when we told them we did not tamper with the mini bar. we did not like the $12 a day to use the internet or WiFi. we also did not like how the hotel did not even mention a bus that ran to La Romana for $30 after we told them we needed to go there. they only suggested a cab which costed 130 US dollars
We really liked the location for what we needed to do in Santo Domingo. The beds were very comfortable and the rain shower was fantastic. We appreciated that the hotel has been renovated in the last few years and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
My only suggestions would be to include internet in the price of the room. Internet is like hot water. You have to have it and it is rude to ask people to pay extra for it.
it is dificulte to get it if you ares come from West or East of santo domingo.
the pool area, the room was very clean, very quiet inside the room, very safe and secure. the price was fair.
We only stayed one night but it was a great stay, room was very clean pool area and lobby as well.
