Buena ubicación. Al borde del mar. Hostal con encanto. Echaba en falta más limpieza y equipamientos en los baños compartidos. También falló por un par de días internet.

I had the corner room with two walls that opened to the ocean (you can actually open the windows or the whole wall). The sound of the waves was so close and soothing during the night. For $25/night, you get beachfront property and a narrow clean beach all to yourself. There was a big difference between my room and the other singles which basically had a twin bed inside a tiny room whereas my room had two twin beds, a table, a wooden beach chair and a small safe. I would definitely call ahead to see what's available. This is not a hotel experience but more rustic, like a step above camping, but the beachfront is gorgeous and the Dominican family who runs the place is very friendly. If you want to get away from the tourists and the street-side hustlers of Cabarete, I would stay here. You can walk to the grocery store in 5 minutes and the "town" in 10 minutes. No mirrors anywhere (which was kind of nice actually) and no bathroom sink. Cold water shower with just a curtain between you and the outside. When I arrived, I had to explain that I had paid for the 1st night online and there was some initial confusion about which room I had actually rented (call ahead to arrange and be ready to speak Spanish :) The mosquitos (by you can rent a net for your bed). Wifi only worked if you sat in one spot on the stairs (but was also kind of nice) No kitchen or bar. Pool was unswimmable. Basically, if you want all the comforts of home, this is not your spot. But if you want a quiet affordable space ON THE BEACH, this is it.

Nothing really. Would suit Spanish speaking backpackers on a low budget. Very quiet place that is a good 15 minute walk to town.
