Amazing Villas, Amazing Location. Very friendly staff, we used the hotel kitchen to make pizzas with another guest couple. Saw whales from our villa balcony (highlight of the trip) Close to some beautiful beaches (Playa Rincon)

Getting to the hotel at night was difficult and the road isnt good. Its a dirt road on a steep hill. Hence recomended to be at the hotel by dawn.

Our nr. 1 place to stay during our 2 weeks roundtrip around the country. Perfect location with fantastic views across the Bay of Samaná. Every hut with own terrace. Extensive & nice garden with lots of birds and other wildlife. No restaurant, but breakfast available and the very nice manager will cook for you on request (or he brings a pizza from the village). And if that's not enough: it is cheap. If we come back to DR and can only stay in one hotel, it will be here.

A bit hard to find, no signs on the main road from Santa Bárbara to Las Galeras. Around 5 km before Las Galeras turn right at the sign La Guázuma (only visible if you are coming from Santa Bárbara), then first right (at the pylon), shortly thereafter first left (with sign Calle Flamboyan), then follow the road for about 1 km. From the main road it's 2 km. The road is a bit rough, but passable for a normal car. Minor inconvenience: the shower was not as hot as I hoped for.

I had a fantastic time at Casitas de la Loma; the cabins are basic but comfortable, the views are stunning and the remoteness makes you feel very far away from fellow tourists (which was a big plus for me). The staff was very helpful in arranging transportation for me to get around Las Galleras

Though there was nothing I disliked about the place, it is good to realize that the place is located in a rather remote location. So the beaches and restaurants are not really at a walking distance. If you stay there for a longer time, it may be handy to have a rental car to get around...
