resort, beach, food, location, animation ..
Wifi poor,pool dirty
The position and layout of the resort.
Other than the Japanese restaurant the quality of the food at the 3other specialty restaurants was poor .
Nice location, friendly and helpful staff, good food selection in the main buffet ( don't even waste your time to go to the restaurant) I will still go over there, good value for money
Rooms are old and outdated, 4 restaurants with horrible food, wifi only accessible form balcony. Hotel under renovation but barely noticeable.
Very nice and quiet atmosphere, pool and beach. Definitely value for money.
Very rude reception representative in VIP reception - her name is Minerva. Horible service from her. We tried many restaurants and spots in the hotel and food was not very tasty and sometimes not even fresh.
Checked and the upgrade us to Privilege, which is their VIP section.
WIFI didn't work as well in the Privilege section inside rooms
The beach, the swimming pool, the special restaurants, the weather and the hotel are awesome!
The guys that are always trying to sell you the special members plan and the mosquitoes, a lot of mosquitoes.
Endless food and drink while on the beach is a great thing. The beach was never crowded. Also the hotel was under a but of renovation while there - normally would irritate me but ultimately didn't.
There was only one beach bar which was shared by the ENTIRE beach. At some times there were 15+ people waiting for a drink. However the staff was awesome at remembering you so I can't complain too much about that. The only thing that I really would have hoped more for would have been more beach service. We were "privliged" which I though would have been more exclusive (we had our own side of the beach) but it really only felt like we had a different row of hotel rooms...nothing more.
Everything: food, staff, location, room...
It would be nice to have to airport pick-up/drop-off hotel transportation.
clean comfortable safe
some of the food lacked taste. Best was the buffet. Felt some of the restaurant like the Italian rest. served frozen food--- did not taste fresh at all!
staff were friendly loved the hammock in every room nice beach
too many mosquitos too loud/noisy, no quite area by the beach food in the restaurants was mainly luke warm/cold bathroom bit run down tennis courts poor hotel wasn't able to change money
My bathroom was leaking water from the above floor.
Everything. I think I should have more days to spend there, so many thing to do.
Internet connection. Wi-Fi is horrible.
I loved the location and the fact that if you booked through this site they gave you a free upgrade to "privileged" everyone was very nice and friendly and never once told us we were not allowed to do anything.
The only complaint I had was the food wasn't the greatest, the japanese place was the best, but the drinks were great and they had enough food options you could find something you liked.
We were staying in this hotel for more than 2 weeks. Here's what we think about it: +great quality of products +beautiful +clean +tasty food +helpful staff +really nice room
-extremly bad wifi... it was horrible -ants in the room (they bite us very paintfully) -minibar wasn't refilled everyday -room wasn't cleaned everyday -pool was a little dirty (as well as the beach)
We had a room very close to the beach and pool. Perfect ! Buffet good, food would be better if warmer or hot. Wine good. Garden and walking area very nice.
Hotel very fare from everything.(290$ Taxi Airport for an back) Did not leave the property in 11 days. Special Restaurant disappointed except the Toscana , the best. Would be willing to pay add. 10 - 15 Dollar pP in the special Restaurants for better food and service .Room was cleaned often after 4pm. No books to buy. No wifi in room. Do not rent a car by Eurocar/National at Santo Domingo Airport. They wanted to charge us double the price as proposed with the booking. We refused. Did not get the car, but they never paid back the 285 $ we had paid already with the reservation. This is criminal !!
All good, staff upgraded us as we had a honeymoon there 7 years ago. Stoked!
Needs a lick of paint..
Great staff! They took care of us like a King and Queen. Will definally came back.
Beautiful beach and great pool facilities. The grounds are excellent and there are many facilities such as an outdoor theatre, several bars and restaurants; and many organised activities. The rooms are good and everything works well.
The buffet food is really average - even the "a la carte" dishes in the theme restaurants taste as if they were made yesterday and heated up. The staff are nice but very poorly trained. They have developed a poor attitude towards providing any service that is not tipped. For example, the room was not serviced (despite notifying reception) until we left a tip every day. A $1 tip did however produce wonders.
Hotel Catalonia does an amazing job in taking care of its guests. The daily beach activities are fun and entertaining. We particularly enjoyed the daily show at night. Entertainers are very good and seem to enjoy their job. We were there for a week for we had an excellent time. The beach party they had during one of the nights was extremely fun. We will definitely go back to Catalonia Hotel.
WiFi signal is very poor pretty much everywhere, even in the hotel lobby where its supposed to work the best. If you need good internet access, Catalonia might not be your best option. In a way, it is actually pretty nice and relaxing to loose touch from the outside world, even if it's because you are being forced to do so.
The room was beautiful and we liked that room service was available.
The beach was small and dirty. The staff was very rude and the cleaning was poor.
Staff was excellent. Beach was beautiful. Environment was well kept and clean.
The room had a mildew smell to it sometimes. The shower was too small. There was too much pressure from some of the male staff to attend the time-share/ club meetings.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was really good. The room was clean.
The beach was a little crowded and hard to find a good spot to sit and lay, but it dint take away from the experience.
Friendly staff, beautiful beach and pool areas. Food was amazing. Very relaxing.
Couple of my friends ended up sick after eating at the Italian restaurant, don't recommend it, but the others were good, especially the steak place.
I sent my parents and two uncles, they said the service was outstanding, the quality was just awesome.. Food delicious.. Now I want to go in the upcoming weeks!
Beach had algae, people try to remove from the beach, but it was perhaps due to rain.. Not a dealbreaker, since they have a little road within the sea so you can walk inside it and then have some sort of pool!! The algae problem I think that's in Punta Cana in general, I've been in other resorts and its the same thing..
the server staffs and the food, the beach and all the activities.
the room that I saw online and the room I got wasn't the same lower standard. reception crews weren't cooperative. a lot of advertisement people on the hallway. not advised about mosquitos.
