That my shower room had a bath. The old fashioned style of the building.

That my room had no outside window, only one onto the stairwell.

Excellent service; professional, courteous and friendly staff in both the hotel and the restaurant. Food was good. Location is unparrelled. Rooms are comfortable, charming, and modern.

Some construction outside might bother light sleepers, although I slept fine.

I just left yesterday. This was my second time staying here in the past 6 months. I couldn't have picked a better place. A confirmation was sent the day before and I was asked whether I needed someone to pick me up. I agreed and the guy was right on-time and I didn't have to look for him. I then quickly settled into my hotel. I always feel safe here and it is in the perfect spot. The hotel is clean....and when there is room, there is flexibility with stays. The staff is very accommodating. I feel very safe here despite the chaos of Conde at times... Let me not forget the wonderful restaurant and the beautiful tree that surrounds it. I'll hopefully be back in a few months. :)

The streets around the area were amidst construction

Great location opposite the first church of the Americas and close to tourist sites and excellent restaurants and bars. Rooms were good size and comfortable. Reception staff were very helpful.

Had fridge but it was locked and could not use to put in your own food.

I like the location of the hotel very much, it was close to everything, and anything we need was at our reach. The security of the Hotel was very good and helpful.

The only thing i did not like was that the cross street was under construction and was very uncomfortable to get there by car. We had to park three blocks away.

Location was ideal. I arrived not feeling well, the man on the reception was so helpful, he even pulled the bedding down for me, and wanted to call a doctor. We stayed 3 days all the staff were helpful.

The Reception was on the 1st floor of 3 floors with no lift. Not a hotel if you have heavy bags. The bath was very small and needed renovation. The road beside the hotel was under construction, so machinery started early. Also being in the main street worth it for location.

Sitting at an outdoor table of the hotel's cafe enjoying breakfast and mango juice every morning as the colour and vibrancy of Santo Domingo unfolded in the Parque Colon(with the Americas' oldest cathedral as the backdrop) is one of travel's more unforgettable experiences. (Late at night, we would repeat the experience, this time from our room balcony with a bottle of the fine local rum) A special commendation for Nuria on reception who, unlike some of her male counterparts, was only too happy to help you find cheaper alternatives to the expensive tourist taxis on the street outside.

The assistance by Nouri The German speaking guide hired for friends The feel at home"

To put underground the electrical system in the OLD Colonial Town area, streets are thorn apart during high season next to the hotel. This will be until June 2014...

    Very good location

it doesn't worth lts price. The habitation was very tiny without any windows going outside. I woke up with a huge coakroach in my sheets. Very noisy. I don't recommend it. La habitación muy pequeña, sin ventana hasta a fuera. Me levante con una cucaracha gigantesca en mi sabana. Muy ruidoso. No lo recomiendo. No vale su precio

Location is very convenient next to the cathedral, and within walking distance to all attractions in the old town. Got the recommended room 302, nice view of Calle El Conde from the balcony.

No elevator (not a big problem for us, but can be a problem if you have lots of luggage)

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was wonderful, and I loved being right in the heart of the colonial section. It was great to walk around and take in the sights and historic buildings, museums, etc. It was good value. The restaurant downstairs was also nice, and very pleasant to enjoy a drink and watch the action in the park. Coffee was superb.

There were some issues with my reservation and the guaranteed room was not available so I was offered an internal room with no window for the first night. I was then switched to a balcony room for the second night (as per the reservation). I was compensated for the inconvenience, but it did tarnish the experience and the internal room was not a great place to be, even for a night. The bathrooms were basic, but everything was clean and in working order.

Location is excellent in the middle of the old town. Hotel rooms are modest and quite not like in the pictures but they are OK and I dont think any other hotel in the neighbourhood has any better.

The location is unbeatable Very nice to have their own cafe downstairs on the square where you can have an evening drink (and charge to your room if you like) Only a 5-minute stroll with your bags to the ferry terminal for San Juan

Their cafe just doesn't do breakfast well at all. Avoid it

Location and rooms are good for the price.

At the end of my trip, I had a very bad poisoning, still have not figured out whether it was food or medication sold in dominican republic, however, I had it so bad, that I had lost conciousness in our room and fell right before checking out. My girlfriend who obviously got very scared and did not know what to do, because such things have never happened to us, as we are a very healthy couple, she naturally screamed for help, staff of the hotel, upon arrival, instead of calling the doctor or trying to console or help my girlfriend or try to revive me or at least see if I am breathing or not, they asked my girlfriend if she knows where my wallet and my credit card is, so they can charge us for the mini bar. Thankfully, I am a very healthy person and I had regained conciousness. Keep in mind, that during all that time, the staff had not even tried to call the doctor or try to bring me a glass of water. For this experience alone, I highly suggest to all western travellers who happen to care about their well being, DO NOT EVER STAY HERE! If you happen to have a heart attack or something of that sort, the staff will first and foremost, make sure that they charge your credit card for the mini bar, and even then, most likely they will not care to call you a doctor. THANKS A LOT! To the owner of this place, I highly suggest to train your staff in the matters of first aid and emergency response procedures, after all this is a business oriented in hospitality and people tend to have emergencies. My girlfriend mind you, could not stop crying for 3 days because she thought that she had almost lost me, partially due to negligence of this staff.

The room was beautiful with a great balcony overlooking Colón square. It was a large, high-celing room, with confortable beds and a very good shower (good temperature and good presure). The restaurant/café on the bottow floor is basic but quite good and very decently priced. Everyone working here, from the receptionist to the waiters in the café were extremly friendly and helpful. Very highly recomended. Maria Clara, Brazil

the location is the absolute best..the hotel is in the center of zona colonial, the hotel is charming with unique artwork and high end spanish baroque style..the linens, the bed,the television, water pressure and AC..everything worked..There is wonderful restaurant downstairs for meals but you are very close to hundreds of local restaurants as well.the hotel is also very secure with 24 security and front desk staff on duty.

there are no elevators so if you have problems with stairs please request a low floor
