I liked the older look of the hotel and it's court yard. The hotel restaurant served very good food, nice menu.
A/C could have been a little bit colder at times. Our room safe was broke.
The hotel is located within walking distance of many historical sites, and many shops and restaurants.
The mattress was hard to sleep on - extra firm. Breakfast was not included in our rate. The extra charge for breakfast was $16 pp. We did not eat breakfast there.
The location is perfect! In the heart of the colonial zone, walk distance to most attractions -- Plaza d'España, Casa de Colón, restaurants, Cathedral, etc. It's also near the other attractions like the 3 Ojos Park. The colonial style of the hotel and the courtesy of the staff were also great. I recommend.
The wifi wasn't working in the rooms, only in the public areas of the hotel. For me, it's a very important aspect for choosing a hotel, always.
The room was lovely, place was walking distance to all the colonial district, friendly staff, great bartender, seems like really cool people that work there and they all get along- it was cool to see. The air conditioner in our room was the best! It worked extremely well and was welcomed after a long hot walk.
Our only complaint is that when we left we hopped in a taxi that the hotel arranged and didn't haggle a price. We went 5 minutes away to the bus station and he wanted 12 dollars! We told him to get a life (and some choice other words) and gave him 5. Make sure you agree on a fair price before going!
Very good place for short sightseeing - really nice historical building, down town, but quiet, helpful staff, beautiful patio and private parking.
Good but a little bit too fancy dishes for dinner (breakfast was OK).
Patio spañolo, breakfast, location
- spacious room with wooden window blinds - buffet breakfast and very good coffee - nice bathroom - free WiFi available everywhere - big inner patio
- most of the staff, with exception to the front desk, did not spoke english - the thermostat did not seem to be working as expected, it used to get quite cold
location right in the heart of the Colonial City yet quiet at night. Inside is a patio/terrace garden. Nice to sit and relax or have dinner. WiFi worked well. Staff spoke Spanish, English, French. Would stay there again. Good aircon, not noisy.
A bit pricey.
Very beautiful hotel with great location.
excellent welcome and service.... could not have been better. excellent value
the a/c was a bit cool and we had trouble adjusting the temperature but we do not use a/c that much so it may not bother other people
The room was clean and the restaurant staff was very friendly and polite.
There were a couple of incidents that made my 6-night stay less than pleasant: - During my second night at the hotel (around 1:30am), I was awaken by loud voices and a door noise that seemed close my room. Somehow, in the middle of the dark, I was able to realize that the noise came from my own room. Some people had entered into my room! It was a couple that immediately shut the door when I said: "Excuse me! This room is occupied!" I immediately called the front desk to report the incident. After a few minutes, I called again to ask for details. The person at the front desk indicated that this couple was checking-in at that time. The system showed my room as vacant and clean. For that reason, he assigned them the room and gave them the magnetic key. The next day, I spoke with the manager who offered and explanation (something about the new system they had installed two weeks prior and the employees were still learning to work with it) and extended a restaurant voucher to make it up to me for the inconvenience. Although I appreciate the manager's response, this kind of situation is unsafe and absolutely unacceptable. - The room I was given faced to the street. It was very noisy at night as there is a bar nearby that would open from around 9pm until after midnight (every night). Not a good situation for someone that is in town for business and has to wake up early every morning. I'll go to a different hotel the next time I am in town.
Great staff! I'm very happy for choosing hotel Frances. This hotel is comfortable and cozy!
Some little problem finding the reservation, but no big deal
Excellent hotel central to everything in Zona Colonial. Breakfast was a wonderful tableside buffet. The room was spacious and cool with wonderful blinds that blockedout the sun so we could sleep in and enjoy our vacation.
no good the room ventilation
Great location, very historic hotel local with really nice courtyard. Our dinner was excellent. Room was clean and comfortable.
Our room faced the courtyard and it got a bit noisy in the morning as the staff was prepping for the day.
