Hotel La Tortuga  

Very quirky & ideally located in Las Teranas. Have been to Las Teranas 10+ times in the past 7 yrs of living in the Dominican Republic & La Tortuga is a find. I will be staying here from now on. Value for money, great service, friendly people, clean, comfortable & an excellent breakfast. Had a wonderful time.

Nice Breakfast, quite area away from the street noise. Rooms are spacious and private. Owners are very helpful.

About three blocks off the beach.

La Tortuga is a very nice, relaxed and welcoming hotel. They have really helpful staff, though they only speak Spanish or French and a little bit of English, but we managed to sort all things out great with them. The location is a few blocks from the beachfront, which is nice, as it makes the place so quiet, but only a few minute walk from the beach, the best restaurants and shops. The rooms (bungalows) are beautiful, spacious and clean. They come with ac and mini fridge for your own drinks and snacks. There is also safety locker. Breakfast is good, eggs either fried or scrambled with your choice of ham, cheese etc. Also bread, jam, butter and juice, tee and coffee are available. The restaurant at the hotel is really good, if you wish to enjoy your dinner. It´s run by the lady who used to run La Salsa, also the chef is the old chef from La Salsa. We ate our Christmas dinner there. We both had a huge plate of spiny lobsters, shrimps, calamaris and fish. It was great. Also the appetizers and dessert were tasty. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, and even if you don´t stay at the hotel, the restaurant is worth a try!

They kept changing the toilet paper roll even though there was plenty left. I do not know what happened to the rest of the roll, but I sure hope it was not thrown away. They also change towels every day. I consider this unnecessary and not ecological.

Perfect place value for money. Cute quiet bungalows, great pool, lovely atmosphere, clean & spacious rooms.

The bungalows are all on the main floor, so be prepared to see some insects... We had to 'deal' with two humongous cockroaches over the two days - but that's just part of being in this country, not because the bungalows aren't kept :) No one speaks English, so be armed with Spanish or French.

Cabanas are placed around a nice garden, the atmosphere is friendly and inviting, personnel is attentive but quite invisible, the breakfast is very good.

It is not so easy to find, parking was limited because of heavy rain.

Una francesa y un suizo gestionando un lugar excepcional en (para mi) la mejor zona de la verdadera República Dominicana. Samana tiene las mejores playas que vimos. No os perdais la playa del Rincon, los Haitises, la Playita, etc... La antigua dueña de la Salsa nos hizo sentir como en casa y la cocina lo mejor, la mejores cenas las hicimos allí! Aunque no os alojéis en la Tortuga no dejéis de ir a su restaurante a cenar, quedareis encantados, tanto con el lugar, como con la decoración y la comida!

solo estuvimos allí dos días...la próxima vez mas!!! Al ver la zona de las Terrenas parece preparado para el disfrute de miles de personas en cuanto a hoteles, restaurantes y locales. Estuvimos en temporada baja (mayo) y se estaba perfecto, casi solos.

L'accueil, le jardin, l'originalité de la déco des bungalows,la proximité de la plage et de la ville, le repas, le calme, la piscine ... enfin tout était parfait.

Qu'il y ait eu une erreur de réservation de la part du manager (2 bungalows réservés, un seul retenu donc obligés d'être 4 dans le même) sans aucun geste (remise sur le prix ou coktail de bienvenue...)

hotel très confortable, vraiment calme, avec un personnel et une direction très serviable. Un lieu ideal pour le repos, a quelques pas du centre et de la plage. Une restauration sympa. On peut dire merci à tous.

un petit bémol pour le petit déjeuner, mais on peut en parler avec la direction et ça s'arragne.

Accueil, service et disponibilités des propriétaires. Cadre idyllique proche du centre mais au calme. Bungalow confortable,petits déjeuners copieux avec des fruits frais chaque matin

L’hôtel est magnifique, lorsque l'on arrive dans ce charmant petit jardin on ne veut plus en sortir !! La chambre est colorée et très propre. Une prise européenne est disponible dans la salle de bain. La piscine est magnifique. Le personnel très accueillant et disponible. Le gérant vous conseillera parfaitement pour découvrir au mieux la région et sa femme tient le restaurant le soir ou règne une ambiance typique Caraïbe authentique et où l'on mange divinement bien. Je le conseille vivement.

excellent hotel

Nice garden, big rooms, good breakfast. They give you a weapon against the bugs (anti-bug-spray in every room).

Hotel has seen it's better days, I can believe that a few years ago it was a nice hotel, but now it could use a renovation. Hotel is not located near the beach! It's an 8 minute walk to a small beach, even a longer walk to the nicer beach. Staff only speaks spanish.

La piscine très jolie et toujours propre, le personnel très sympathique, les bungalows très calme et dans un très joli cadre tropical.

Las atenciones del personal es excelente, el Desayuno muy rico..

Hay muchos insectos, y deben ponerles screnes a las ventanas para que no entren a las habitaciones.

Muy buena la atención por parte de todas las personas que se desempeñan en el Hotel. Excelente el desayuno. Muy buena la relación calidad/precio. Hermoso el lugar, las plantas, la naturaleza.

Recomendaría poner protector para insectos en las ventanas.

The hotel owner is a very uninterested French guy, who only sits behind his computer and is not interested in his guests (he did not even offer to take our suitcases to our rooms). The rooms are very basic and not nearly as nice as in the pictures. In addition, the hotel is located on a gravel (back) road around 250 metres from the main road and the beach (and not the good part of the beach). If you are looking for a place around the beach and close to the restaurants, i would continue looking.

El desayuno, debe ser mas variado.

La posizione e'buona,si trova a 5 min a piedi dal centro di las terrenas ma la strada la sera soprattutto al ritorno e'buio.

Le lenzuola non sono il massimo del confort perché sono ruvide e sembra di avere sempre la sabbia nel letto. La colazione e'sempre la stessa e non puoi scegliere cosa mangiare perché portano loro al tavolino sempre le stesse cose.

Excellent central location, a short walk to the beach and restaurants. Getting around Las Terrenas is pretty easy on motoconchos/motorcycle taxis. The room was simple, clean, and cute. The included breakfast was a good portion of eggs, fruit, bread, and coffee/tea/hot chocolate. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a pool in the center of the complex. There's wifi on the whole property and the staff allowed us to print some documents from their printer. There is also a gated parking lot if you have your own car. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and only speaks Spanish.

l'hotel se trouve en zone inondable alors en tant de plus c'est totalement invivable.Quand on s'est que dans les Caraibes les plus sont frequentes je ne recommende pas chaudement cet hotel
