    Rooms are really confortable, the all inclusive system is really good and the beach is perfect

    If you are not thinking about become a Melia Club Member don´t let the concierge that does your check in schedule a presentation to show the hotel on your second day. This presentation will last 90 minutes in order to try to sell the merbership program and you will loose all your morning because of that

    The pool and the beach

    In general the staff was unpolite. We had to figure out what was all-inclusive and what wasn't. There are three types of guests at the hotel, and they don't explain any of this when you check-in. They also didn't tell us that they wanted the lock for the safe returned to the front desk upon check-out. Extremely slow service. The room smelled bad and the bathroom was dirty. I would not stay at this hotel again.

    Beautiful grounds. Wonderful beach. Our butler (Baltamor- spelling?) was gracious, friendly and very helpful. He surprised me with a birthday very thoughtful. Food and shows were very good.

    Alot of steps. Next time I would get a first floor room. The resort needs to give visitors a better map of the the facility, restaurant locations etc.

    The location, kids zone and the restaurants layout

    The room's furniture are old, the food was not what we were expecting for 5 stars resort, the value for money was not good. $250 dollars daily average PER PERSON.... Most of the employees were looking just to sell you time sharing

    The atmosphere was peaceful, service was excellent, staff was friendly. It was a lovely vacation for my family.

    In a few restaurants (Mole and Bana Bistro) the wait for the food was too long! Other than that, the good was very good.

    Great cocktails. Restaurants were quite good. Spectacular beach. Lovely outdoor furniture.

    Mosquitos in room meant lots of bites.

    The resort is nicely nested in a jungle-like atmosphere. The plantation is excellent and it is so nice and refreshing to go around and take a walk or ride one of the cars to take you around. It is very nicely decorated too. Good variety of restaurants. Room service is very good and offers excellent food. The rooms are nice and spacious. The beach is beautiful, stunning. White sands outstretched and the Gabi Beach restaurant is located on the beach offering drinks. We also had the royal vip service throughout the stay, which included tented setting area by the beach, towels, and someone who took our order for drinks. Overall, good place to be in. Good facilities for kids too, including the kids zone and kids club. Room cleaning is good. Staff are nice. Offices for tour organisers and aircanada available on site

    1. We waited for nearly 2 hours to be given a room. Reception is slow to check in. After all that time, I was told that there was a booking issue and the room I booked is not available!! THerefore, I was upgraded at no cost to stay at the reserve side for the first 3 nights, and provided vip service throughout the 7 night stay. Again, at no additional cost. However, in the suite I was given, the microwave and the iron were not working. I reported that 4 times and they got fixed the day I was moving out. In addition, when I moved into the suite, it was still being cleaned and that is at 3.30 pm. So the whole thing wasn't really appropriate!! After 3 nights, I chose to she moved to one of the rooms with JAcouzi, so I was again moved to a room better than my previously booked one (ordinary room) at no additional cost (would have been 200 usd for the 4 extra nights).

    The hotel area was beautiful with the gardens and nature around. We stayed in Royal Service where the beach and pool area was really good. The waiters were going around all the time asking if you'd like something to drink. From the restaurants we liked Passion, Bana and the italian cuisine. The Steakhouse was also OK. The rooms of Royal Service are in a good location, right next to the beach and pool area. In Royal Service you pay for the beach, pool, location of room and waiters for beach/pool.

    Personally I don't think all the services are really needed in the Royal Service. Our 1st personal butler (we had 2 during our stay), Juan, was not great. He was pushy and not very friendly. He did book us the restaurants but normally when I'm traveling it's not a big deal to do it myself. That's all he did so don't expect too much from the personal butlers. The restaurants are nothing special. The food is just standard. Nothing we had was really something you would remember afterwards. The Service during breakfast is awful. They never remember to bring you juice, coffee or tea. So you end up eating your breakfast without anything to drink.
